Lilac polish
Toby and I went on a walk early this morning and spotted this beautiful lilac nail polish on two different gorgeous women. (Maybe it's the new "it" color?) It looked so light and lovely, and was a nice change from red and pink. I'm going to pick up a bottle today and plan to wear it all summer. What do you think? xo
P.S. I never used to be that into nail polish, but the colors are so amazing this year.

I just quit one of my jobs recently, and part of the dress code was that we couldn't wear nail polish, or any other makeup really. Can you imagine? I was there for sooo long too. I'm definitely going to take advantage of this new finger nail freedom and try on as many new pretty shades as I can this summer! :D

Jo! Might I recommend the best lilac color I've found? Slightly embarassing because it's from the Shrek (!) collection from O.P.I.... but it's beautiful. It's called Rumples' Wiggin. :)
You know, Joanna, the older I got, the more I became enamored of nail polish on the fingers. Toes, I always did but not fingers.
I still haven't had anything other than fairly traditional colors but this is tempting. I'll look at it today on a neighborhood errand trip. One of the joys of living in an urban neighborhood...

What a beautiful color! I love nail polish, but I never wear it because I'm just so awful at putting it on my nails - it always looks messy. Maybe I just need to try a manicure every once in a while :)
it is the best! i REALLY love it on my toes. but, maybe that is because i can't usually wear fingernail polish for work. apparently, it is 'clean' to wear it in the OR. ha! all in all, you will love it. great purchase!

I love lilac nail polish! I bought lilacism by essie a few weeks ago. I still have some polish lingering on my thumbnails after my test-run...I need to get in the habit of removing nail polish when it starts chipping instead of letting it linger for weeks.
I am looking for a good pale blue. I think it makes a great neutral and pops a little when you have a tan. I just might have to get this lilac too!
It's so fresh! I've also been seeing a lot of emerald green - in fact, essie has the greatest mermaid-y shade.

Nail polish is my big makeup love. I tend to be very conservative with anything on my face but with nails I love bright, intense, fun colors. (My yoga instructor once pointed out my blue toenails and how happy they made her.) This lilac is gorgeous; will definitely pick up a bottle soon!

I love this color! Also, I love using Essie's "French Affair" and I just bought "Absolutely Shore," (what seems to be a love affair between a mint-green and the sea-foam-green... L-O-V-E). A plus, I have seen plenty of girls wearing lilac and "French Affair," but I have yet to spot another girl wearing "Absolutely Shore" :)
I've been wearing Essie's "St. Lucia Lilac" this summer and it's such a fun pop of color! Definitely on board with lilac/lavender nails.
I never was much into nail polish either, but lately I've been wearing it and I'm loving it! Makes me feel so much more feminine- I even notice I'm more graceful in how I move my hands and gesture, which is kind of a funny observation. :)

I bought a lilac Essie polish last year and loved it! Unfortunately, it gets too milky on my nails and I'm such a perfectionist that I never liked the look on me. It's a gorgeous colour though!
I love my Essie lilac nail polish but I do think it looks best when I have a light tan!

Funny, I actually threw french affair in my tote in case I had a minute to paint my nails at work.
I finally bought this a few months ago after hearing so many great things about it, but I was a bit let down (I thought it would be paler). However I found its lighter lavender cousin St. Lucia Lilac and I simply adore it!
I just found an Essie lilac polish on sale (50% off) at the drugstore the other day, I think the shade is called, "Nice is nice." I've gotten quite a few compliments on it and that never happens to me!
I've been using Nice is Nice for the past couple of months, Essie nail polishes are so addictive! Especially when the Target near you now carries them...dangerous.
I love having dark purple nails, but that doesn't really work for the summer. I'm going to have to try it.

Amazingly, I love this color, especially on darker-skinned ladies. Unfortunately, it makes my nails look sickly.

That's the color I'm wearing right now! I think it's a nice switch from seashell pinks, lush reds and neon. It's a great look for tan summer tootsies. It's delish when combined with blue jeans too. I didn't realize it was a trend, I just thought it looked fresh.

OPI has a GREAT lavender/lilac color called "tickle my francy!" You would like it!

i have had this color on my nails for a few weeks! i had no idea it was a trendy thing right now. people were complimenting me on it and i would just tell them, "oh..thanks...i just like purple..."
ooh, such a fun reason to head to Target. thank you. loving the lilac hue. am recently in love with Sally Hansen brand complete salon manicure. it's really the quickest drying i've found. nail polish was never a fave until i turned into a mama and now i realize it's an instant gratification on days i'm feeling unpretty.
p.s. thanks for your comment about the black out solution with black felt. it really does save the day. the felt is light-weight enough for a few pushpins and voila.. curtains! leave a package of pushpins in your baby's suitcase and you'll always be prepared. it's the best way to make a 'nursery' divider in hotel rooms and still stay up late and watch movies as a couple. xo.
