I just ordered my annual pair of Bensimon shoes. Since that's what a French girl would do. :)

love love love love.
ReplyDeletewhat color did you get? i've been dying to get some, too. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so adorable, love the blue ones! I don't have any but wear plimpsoles (not sure what they're called in the US?!) quite a lot anyway... I need to get me some of these :)
ReplyDeleteI wear toms and bensimos all spring and summer long. They are so super comfy and fit with everything I wear. I have a pair in canard blue but Im thinking about getting one in red as well for a cute pop of colour this summer! What colour did you get, Joanna?
ReplyDeleteNope, I'm going to have to check them out :)
ReplyDeleteomg, plimpsoles! haha, we wore those all the time when we lived in england! ha, what a flashback to hear that word. :)
ReplyDeleteAh they are super cute. Definitely need more slip-ons in my life now that I have a little baby to carry around. Haha.

Alexa
mary, i got the cream, thought they'd look cute w/shorts.
ReplyDeleteha, alexa, that's why i got the slip-on version, too! impossible to tie laces with a little on in your arms :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic discovery! oh so chic
ReplyDeleteGorgeous- what colour did you get?

I feel like I spent my entire tweens in Bensimon sneakers. They're still so trendy in France...
ReplyDeleteLove them! Springcourt's are good french girl shoes too. http://www.springcourt.fr/
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend! x
They don't make them big enough for my huge feet :(
ReplyDeleteLove my Bensimons! I wear them almost every day :)
ReplyDeleteI have been considering getting some of these in lieu of my usual flip flops this year. But I, too, have huge feet so it might not work out.
ReplyDeletei was in paris last summer and search high and low for these sneakers! i might just have to order a pair online now :)
ReplyDeletehaha, really? i wear a size 10 and can fit them comfortably. do you guys have bigger feet than i do? i thought i maxed out in the foot-size deparatment :)
ReplyDeletelovely!!! I love the blue ones ;DD
ReplyDeleteCream sounds perfect! Are the sizes true-to-size? They are so cute and beachy for summer ...ciao!
ReplyDeletethe shoes run slightly small, so you want to go a size up. xo (it says this on the shop's website too, so i'm not the only one who thinks that :)
ReplyDeleteHey Jo, those shoes are exactly what I have been looking for and could not find them around here. Now at least I know where I can order them.
ReplyDeleteI'm not French Girl, rather an older Texas Lady ;) but I just love 'em and will order the blue slippers.
Regards and thanks for sharing
Paula JO ;)
I adore my Bensimon slip-on sneakers. Perfect with jeans or a skirt. They are so comfortable and tres chic!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute, I've often admired them from afar. Your annual pair, huh? I guess they must be comfortable. Always assumed they'd be kind of like Chuckies, cute but zero support and honestly not the most comfortable shoe in the world. Maybe I should try a pair... those slip-ons seem to be calling my name...
ReplyDeletehttp://nomadic-d.blogspot.com/
I bought my yellow Bensimons after reading your old post about them. <3 They are so comfortable I wear them more than flip flops. Can walk in them all day, and I love that they don't look immediately recognizable (Toms, Converse).
ReplyDeleteI'm a 6.5 and have a size 37. They were snug at first but now have stretched out a bit and feel great.
I really like the laceless Bensimons - it's true there's no support, but I can usually do quite a bit of walking in them without any trouble. I've found they go best with capri pants and skirts; something about the thinness of the shoe looks a little strange (on me) with full-length pants or shorts.
ReplyDeleteI think that, for the quality, they're a little overpriced at $50+, but now that so many online stores carry them I can usually find a deal for $30 or under if I look around (and wait).
did you know that they make them for kids as well? so next year you and Toby could have matching shoes?
ReplyDeleteJoanna love the slip ons in blue, I must have them! After all I am a French Girl!
ReplyDeleteCome and enter my amazing $250 Giveaway from Tracy Porter!

These are perfect! I've been looking for a sneaker I can wear with dresses while roaming the fields in England this summer. Besides, I can also wear my little nude socks and they wont show. Bonus!
ReplyDeletei ordered some a two months ago and when i got them they were too big. but they didnt have the smaller size in the color i want. thanks for reminding me to look at the spring collection!!

J'adore. Since that's what a French girl would say :)
ReplyDeleteoh I love these!!
ReplyDeletei got a pair this spring and love them! so comfy and easy to slip on for summer!

I ordered a pair after the last time you posted about them and fell in love. Now am tempted to get their "ballerine" version...
ReplyDeleteFYI - Moxsie.com is having a 60% off sale, meaning you can get a pair of Bensimons for just $22 and free shipping!
I got a pair at Madewell last summer and they became my walking shoes when I went to Greece and Turkey this past August! They were great for all the walking I did- and they're still a little dusty from the Acropolis! I love when my shoes tell a story :)
ReplyDeleteWant want want! They're so cute!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. What color did you get?
ReplyDeletei just bought a white pair for summer! LOVE them!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!
ReplyDeletethistle handmade
These are so cute!! I am going to Paris this summer. Would these be able to withstand lots of walking? Would they look sophisticated enough to be paired with dresses? (It's hard to tell from the pics.)
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes!
ReplyDeleteLove those. Thanks for the sizing tip!
ReplyDeleteI love these! They only recently came to Canada and they're at the very top of my birthday wish list, in pink, with laces.
ReplyDeleteI want a blue pair!
ReplyDeleteI also love Tretorn sneakers, which are from Sweden. I bought a pair and went to Stockholm on vacation, assuming all the girls would be wearing them too. Nope. Converse everywhere. hehehe
Yes, I have the purple ones, my daughter have grey and liberty and my son the blue ones. Every teenager wears Bensimon this spring in Paris, a real success story.
ReplyDeleteThese are my SHOES OF CHOICE! I LOVE THEM. They are SO comfy and SO cute. I wear them over Toms! (Though I am planning on getting some Toms...)
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute, although sadly a bit pricey for me at the moment
ReplyDeletehttp://www.littlemisscards.blogspot.com
i just got a pair of the apple green...they are so cool and comfortable and go with everything. loads of compliments. i also basically refuse to buy shoes i have to tie....
ReplyDeleteI Love these! Buying them now! :)
ReplyDeleteThey have some on sale on Madwell.com!
ReplyDeleteI have three on the go, all in various stages of wear. Stockists here are sadly limited.
ReplyDeleteAre these as comfy as they look?
ReplyDeleteI do! Two pairs :) one olive green and one light black. both with laces. both bought a summer apart from each other in Paris. actually, I bought both at the Galleries Lafayette!! didn't realize it til now. ahhh Pariiiis.

I just ordered a pair from https://www.bensimonusa.com/. They have a larger selection, are a few dollars cheaper, and offer free shipping!
ReplyDeletedid you see the crazy 60% off EVERYTHING sale moxsie's got going on? i scored two pairs of bensimon for less than the price of one. i love them with sundresses!
ReplyDeleteha ha that is very french! One of my professors in France during my summer abroad wore these daily!! Are they as comfortable as Converse? I like them but am not crazy about them:/ They are definitely more feminine!! xo
ReplyDeleteYeah, I love mine, they are mauve :p
ReplyDeleteMan...They never carry a size 10 1/2 :(
ReplyDeleteMy big feet never get to wear pretty things.
No...but I'm about to!!! (have a pair. can't wait to buy them. I've never seen them before)!
ReplyDeleteMy father would buy us (my sisters and I) a pair of those when we went to France in the summer and realized we forgot our sneakers! Shoes of my youth! Maybe I'll get another pair soon, though I tried them on recently and realized they didn't quite flatter my size 10 feet.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of Bensimons (because I don't own a pair yet)! They look so elegant, though I prefer how they look with shoelaces. These shoes are definitely on my "wish-list." :)
ReplyDeleteI always had them as a kid, I wanted to buy them again this summer but then I realized they closed their store :s ♥-Axelle
ReplyDeletewww.ax-elle.blogspot.com
yes, i do! i have a red one!
ReplyDeletei bought a pair but had to sen them back because they looked so cheaply made. what a disappointment because they are adorable online.
ReplyDeleteoh I do. And am always horrified by how quickly I wear them out.
ReplyDeleteNope. I've got my red converse one-stars (from target), and my two-year-old and I match. :)
ReplyDeleteThe soles in mine wore out after wearing them for about two weeks. I didn't even do that much walking in them, really-- just errands around town and a handful of short dog walks. I was bummed because they're so cute and somehow look more delicate with skirts than any other canvas summer shoe I've owned. Did anyone else have bensimons that fell apart way too fast? I want to think mine were an anomaly and that they usually last longer!!
ReplyDeleteI have purple ones with laces and the coral colored slip ons. The coral is beautiful. So cute. They go with everything. Love them even more than my Toms.
ReplyDeleteI love them!! SO cute. Grey!!!
ReplyDeletebensimons are my absolute favourite and my first ever blog was written about them and how i throw them in the washing machine ready for my spring/sumer adventures!
ReplyDeleteI do! I have a pair in black and I love 'em. The summer colors look so cool, too, though.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute Tumblr idea below. Those tumblr peeps are forever making me laugh and smile, right?!
Yes! I have two pairs - red slip-ons, and navy lace-ups. Bought them last summer for a stay in Nantucket, and LOVE them! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm french : I have two pairs. Normal no ?!
ReplyDeleteI do! I bought them after seeing them on here. It was sort of an impulse buy, by which I meant, I thought about them on and off for months and then on whim one weekend ordered them. haha. Thanks for sharing them!
ReplyDeletehmmm...I don't have any, but now I feel like I need to have a pair! I've been looking for something that will be easy to walk in for my upcoming birthday trip to New York City...
ReplyDeleteJoanna!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you used one of my polaroids in your blog!!! :)
THANKS!!!
I just got one when I was in Paris last month!! It became my everyday walking all-day shoes all over Spain. Cant believe how comfy it is. Now i wish I bought another pair. I got the right one in the second picture :)
ReplyDeleteCute, practical, comfortable... perfect my SAHM lifestyle. :)
ReplyDeleteCurious what color(s) and style you ordered? Having a hard time choosing...

Hey,
ReplyDeleteI'm a french teenager and i have 10 Bensimons.
There's so sweet . <3
No, but I'm getting a pair! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm the only one who feels the elastic on top of the shoe is WAY too tight. I tried to stretch them, wear them for long hours, nothing works. Too bad because they are cute. Then I got a pair of the Liberty lace ups and one of them has a defect on the white rubber tops that hurts my toe. Maybe it's just my luck.
ReplyDeleteyup, a grey lace up pair. although i can't comfortably wear them right now since i'm 8 months pregnant. it's tough lacing them up right now too!! haha. back to the brikenstocks and worishofers.
ReplyDeletegreat site, keep it up the good work
ReplyDeleteI started living for the first time in Toulouse, France for my Masters, last september.
ReplyDeleteI travelled with a new converse, they were the only pair of shoes with me. It turned out they were small, made my feet sore, and couldn't keep walking with them all day.
So I went on my first days, with my very small student budget, shoe hunting. I found the Bensimon (I didn't know they were called that :) I thought they were cute, and got them because they were the cheapest shoes I could find here (20 euros).
Love them, and wear them almost everyday, mostly to go to the park :)
I bought my first pair 2 years ago in Paris...I saw a bunch of young Parisian girls running towards a shop yelling about some shoe sale. Turns out the Bensimon shoes were half off!
ReplyDeleteI bought a pair of army green lace ups and they are my favorite shoes for Summer. I have to go back to Paris for some more Bensimon sales ;)

Bensimon is THE girl's shoes !
ReplyDeleteJe suis française (I'm French) and I have 2 pair : one with lace and the other with slip-one ! It's not expensive and we can wear with every clothes ! But be careful when it's rain ! ;)
(sorry for my bad english ^^)
I would tell you that I love your blog, I read everyday and even the oldest post ! I try to perfect my english with your articles, it's so interesting and fresh !
J'aime A Cup Of Jo !! Tu es la meilleure !
where can you buy them from (in singapore or indonesia)?
ReplyDeleteoh yeah. this year I bought a pair which is a salmony pink and I love them. though i could have also bought every other colour in the shop!
ReplyDeleteI love my bensimons! I have a hot pink pair. My friend was just in Paris and told all my shoes reminded her of all the french girls. I felt so flattered!!
ReplyDeleteLove, love LOVE these. They might be French, but I have pairs in red, white, and blue <3
ReplyDeleteQuite worthwhile information, lots of thanks for your post.
