diana, it was really wonderful! alex let me sleep in, then we got sandwiches and cookies and went to central park with some friends. a really relaxed and wonderful day :) xo
Love Emily's site! I think I pinned the same round-up, in fact! Aron is all about the whales these days as well--you'd love his nautical/whales round-up this morning. xo
I love the whale pillow! I like to decorate with nautical things like baskets of seashells and old signs that say "Beach closed" and pretend that I live by the ocean :) sometimes I really think I do until the typical gray pittsburgh clouds roll in...I can dream though.
Thanks for posting my little whale roundup, Joanna! Your blog is one of my absolute favorites!
I created this whale roundup after a debate in my office... us designers were making a case to the sales team that whales are in fact a very popular and super adorable design trend...(design team won!) xo
Joanna, i think you should see this article, because i think that´s the chair you use with Toby: http://www.parenting.com/blogs/show-and-tell/melanie-parentingcom/cpsc-warns-philteds-usa-clip-chairs-are-not-safe.
SUPER cute! The tongs are awesome because they're quite subtle. This whale look combines the preppy inconography (Think whales on pants, a la Lily Pulizter or Vineyard Vines) with the detailed sketched Cabinets of curiosities-look. So fun! Thanks Jo -- and Emily!
I have had this little pillow in my etsy favorites for a few months now. I love it. http://www.etsy.com/listing/48746580/helmut-the-whale-handmade-in-italy
and suddenly I remember a whale formed bottle opener ... from , like , 30 years ago, which my mother had. And with it all sorts of memories. Thanks :-)
That pitcher is definitely a find!! I can definitely see serving lemonade out of it on a balcony in the summer time at my family beach house!! Bellissimo.
I live in Manhattan with my husband and toddler son. Here's my portfolio website with magazine writing and branding work. For two years, I was the relationships blogger for Glamour Magazine, and now I blog for Conde Nast Traveler, as well. Follow me on Twitter or Pinterest. Please feel free to email me (hellojoannagoddard at gmail) if you'd like to advertise on Cup of Jo.
A Cup of Jo is a blog that I work on full-time to help support my family and young son. Without exception, A Cup of Jo's daily posts feature only products I genuinely recommend, and frequently use for myself and my family. Read on if you would like details about how I'm able to fund my work. A Cup of Jo features banner advertising, and my rates are set with small businesses in mind. Many of my sponsors come about organically, since they're brands or companies that I've always loved. A Cup of Jo sometimes includes affiliate links within certain posts, which means that we may make a small commission if a product is purchased through the blog. Of course, a reader would never pay more for a product; it's a branding relationship directly between the brand and me. Rarely (a few times a year), I allow sponsored posts, as long as they're a natural and positive fit with the blog; please be assured that I mark these posts clearly for my readers. As a final note, I sometimes feature my sponsors within round-ups, link lists or gift guides, but only when it's an organic fit and only when I would have included them even if they weren't sponsors; this editorial inclusion is never paid for. Please feel free to email me at hellojoannagoddard (at) gmail (dot) com if you have any questions at all. After more than five years of blogging, I feel truly connected with my readers, and my relationship with these incredible men and women is my top priority and, honestly, one of the great joys of my life. Thank you so much for visiting!

The whale pitcher reminds me of the gurgling cod jugs! I wonder if it behaves the same...

absolutely Charming! Whales in the house
I have a weird whale phobia, so I'm not loving all the whale stuff unfortunately! It's the cushion and the print that bother me the most though!

I have those thongs and love them. They are such a great playful, functional addition to my already overflowing utensil drawer!
