Home inspiration: Welcome mat

A welcome mat is the first thing you see when you come home. It truly welcomes you! This one is really sweet, don't you think? (Anyone know where to find something similar?)

P.S. Another funny welcome mat.

  11. This is great! Chiasso had one a while back that said "home" in white letters on a red heart, so it was a heart-shaped doormat. Sadly, it's not available anymore. Please tweet if you find out where this one is! I'd jump on it. :)

You could make one. Buy a plain mat, black and red spray paint and print out large letters which you could cut into stencils.

  27. That is really cute! I think it would be fun to paint it directly to the floor - though that may make it useless as a "doormat."

  31. Love welcome mats. Is it wrong that I judge people based on their welcome mats? I also try to imagine what a home looks like based on choice of welcome mat.

  50. Hey Joanna! I loved this post! A welcome mat can serve such a great purpose when inviting guests over for the first time or even for life-long friends that have been to your home a thousand times! I'm a big fan of your blog and am from Grosse Pointe, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit) so we share that background! If you have a chance, please take a look at my blog mollyalone.tumblr.com and let me know what you think! If not, keep doin' what you're doin' because you are fab!

  56. What a lovely post Joanna! And thanks for all the sweet comments about my pups - they're too awesome! Ironically they chewed up my last mat which made me go out and search for a new one ;D
Like I mentioned on my blog I randomly stumbled on it at a garden centre in Cape Town and I snatched up the last one. But I'll pop by next week and see if they can maybe give me the name of the supplier ;) Will report back if I'm successful!
    Stay awesome friends!
