Bicycle riding pants

How amazing are these Daily Riding Pants for bicyclists? Made locally in New York, they shed rain and dirt and resist wear and tear. (Also, they're super sexy.) Thumbs up. Update: Outlier sweetly told me that they'd like to offer Cup of Jo readers 11% off their order with the code LadiesBike2. Thanks, Outlier!

Also, have you guys heard of Ride the City? The rad navigation website gives you the choice of the fastest or safest bike route to your destination. I used it this morning, and it told me the best bike paths all the way to Brooklyn!

  12. Ahh brilliant!

I have found the new trend for high waisted jeans and shorts are good for bike riding.

(p.s. I have that bike in purple. 1977 Raleigh Stowaway. Its beautiful.)

  16. have you heard of an event called 'The Tweed Run'?

    http://stephdrake.blogspot.com/2011/04/tweed-run-2011.html

Its a 10km bicycle jaunt that takes in the sights of capital cities. Difference is everyone of the 500 participants wears tweed suits and vintage clothing and ride old fashion bicycles. Its great.

I went to the event last weekend and it was so much fun.

    Fashionable sport- who knew!

  19. How fabulous. Most of my jeans are a bit too snug to wear while riding my bike and most of my comfy pants are too schleppy to wear out. These are brilliant!

  20. They are just the perfect pants, aren't they? The fit and rise look like a comfy wear for riding the bicycle (vintage red wine and pink huffy!) around town. Yay!

  28. The best part of these pants? Not having to be constantly worrying if the people behind you can see your um...you know...vertical smile ; ) I sometimes wear a sweatshirt around my wait (chic, I know) just to keep that problem at bay.

Bike shops have free paper maps. They don't run out of batteries and it's easier to plan a long journey.

  30. I think I have too much junk in my trunk for those pants (which reminds me...those swim suits are for normal people?!).

I do realize that I missed out on my last trip to NYC by not renting a bike. Have you ever been to Adeline Adeline? On my list for next time

  49. Those pants are great! I just got a bike and am still trying to figure out which clothes I can actually wear to ride it.

It doesn't help in NYC, but http://cyclopath.org/ is a fantastic resource for Twin Cities cyclists. (I know one of the developers, but I'm not personally invested in the project, I just think it's awesome).

  50. Love your blog!

I have a question about the discount. How long does it last? I am trying to spread out my bigger purchases so I'm hoping I can wait a week or two before I buy these. If not, I'll just have to suck it up and buy them this second...which isn't the end of the world because then I get them a few business days after! :)

Thanks for such a lovely blog!
