Have a great weekend.

My sweets, what are you doing this weekend? We're going out for sushi tonight and heading to the Pulse Art Fair tomorrow. (I'm hoping to meet Kim McCarty, whose paintings are amazing!) We're also trying to convince Toby that crawling might be fun now that's he's nine months old. He prefers to just sit and chill. :) Meanwhile, here are a few fun links from around the web...

AMAZING ship wallpaper!!!

Ahoy! The cutest sailor jeans.

Awesome fabrics of London + Paris.

Polka dots in Milan.

The loneliest whale in the world.

Beautiful moon print.

Michigan mittens!

A clip from Annie Hall to make you smile.

A dinosaur birthday party.

Beautiful childhood photos from the (brand new!) Momfilter.

Since a few readers asked, the red lipstick that Caroline was wearing was Covergirl Outlast Lipstain in Wild Berry.

Plus, three of my favorite Cup of Jo posts:
* City Hall wedding in overalls.
* Cute families.
* Belly shots.

Have a good one, my darlings!

  18. Hi Jo
    My daughter was 9 months and two weeks when we caught a plane from Sydney to Buenos Aires and then to Patagonia, At 10 months in Patagonia she just started to crawl. I was so eager for her to crawl, she was so frustrated not being able to go anywhere and it just happened after so much travel and jet lag. She is now started to crawl with a bit more confidence she is 10 months and 1 week. Good luck and I sure he will start before you know it.

  20. My oldest, Alice, didn't crawl until she was 11 months. I was convinced she'd take forever to walk, too but she ended up walking at 13 months. My youngest, Stella, is ten months and started crawling at 9 months, and is DYING to start walking. I'm like, sloooooooow down, I can't deal! I much prefer the late crawling... LOL. Be careful what you wish for. :)

  24. Toby is such a little cutie. I'm sure he'll start moving around soon enough. :) My husband's older brother & sister are twins. His brother started crawling at 6 months, and his twin sister just sat and watched him until one day when they were 9 months old, she just stood up and walked off. Maybe Toby will surprise you one day soon!

  29. I just looked at the loneliest whale in the world post. The back story of is that I just broke up with my boyfriend of 3 and half years this week. I actually feel like the loneliest whale in the world so I click the link and open the page up to see my name, Julia, across the screen, then I read the story- its just so ironic. Although the story is not about me its funny to be identified as the loneliest whale at first.

  36. Maybe Toby will take off when he has some place he wants to go.Try not to scream when you see him walking around. It can happen.

    Meanwhile, blanket on floor one of you in the front encouraging (not teasing) with fav toys, the other of you by his side with hands at Toby's feet. When he puts pressure on the hands, then propell him forward a little so he associates moving with his own steam, not the hands. Goog luck and a fun week-end

  40. What!? He's nine months old? I feel like he was just born about a minute ago.

    My son spent about three weeks in the blissful sit but didn't move phase and then he started crawling. Then he started walking five months later. Now he runs everywhere very very fast and my heart is constantly in my throat as I watch him hurtle down the street as I call for the millionth time, "Stop!" He's two. Live it up in the non mobile world while you can! :-)

  64. Don't fret. It took my nephew forever to crawl. He has a peculiar fascination with cell phones (so shiny and forbidden!) so finally we tied a string around my phone and dragged it away from him while he was playing on the floor (like we were playing with a kitten), and sure enough he took off after it. I think he was about 10.5 months when it happened. He's 14 months now and now we can't get him to hold still!

    ReplyDelete
  65. My mom used to do the same thing as BuffaloBeaux suggested. If you put interesting things just out of his reach and don't give in when he fusses about it, he'll find the motivation to reach it on his own. Funny how that works.
