My sweets, what are you doing this weekend? We're going out for sushi tonight and heading to the Pulse Art Fair tomorrow. (I'm hoping to meet Kim McCarty, whose paintings are amazing!) We're also trying to convince Toby that crawling might be fun now that's he's nine months old. He prefers to just sit and chill. :) Meanwhile, here are a few fun links from around the web...AMAZING ship wallpaper!!!
Ahoy! The cutest sailor jeans.
Awesome fabrics of London + Paris.
Polka dots in Milan.
The loneliest whale in the world.
Beautiful moon print.

A clip from Annie Hall to make you smile.
A dinosaur birthday party.
Beautiful childhood photos from the (brand new!) Momfilter.
Since a few readers asked, the red lipstick that Caroline was wearing was Covergirl Outlast Lipstain in Wild Berry.
Plus, three of my favorite Cup of Jo posts:

that story about the whale is heartbreaking. :(
ReplyDeletebut i love that rocket picture!
Hi Jo
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was 9 months and two weeks when we caught a plane from Sydney to Buenos Aires and then to Patagonia, At 10 months in Patagonia she just started to crawl. I was so eager for her to crawl, she was so frustrated not being able to go anywhere and it just happened after so much travel and jet lag. She is now started to crawl with a bit more confidence she is 10 months and 1 week. Good luck and I sure he will start before you know it.
mmm, sushi! sounds yummy!
ReplyDeletei might have to have some too!
My oldest, Alice, didn't crawl until she was 11 months. I was convinced she'd take forever to walk, too but she ended up walking at 13 months. My youngest, Stella, is ten months and started crawling at 9 months, and is DYING to start walking. I'm like, sloooooooow down, I can't deal! I much prefer the late crawling... LOL. Be careful what you wish for. :)
ReplyDeleteWe're going to sushi tonight too, double date style:-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend hun!
Just had at great dinner with friends at Kyma (in ATL). On Sunday my daughter and her dance team are dancing at the Atlanta Hawks - New York Knicks game!! Go Hawks!
ReplyDeletePetra
This is super cute! :) Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteToby is such a little cutie. I'm sure he'll start moving around soon enough. :) My husband's older brother & sister are twins. His brother started crawling at 6 months, and his twin sister just sat and watched him until one day when they were 9 months old, she just stood up and walked off. Maybe Toby will surprise you one day soon!
ReplyDeleteOMG. I love your blog. My name's Anna, I'm a stylist and visual merchandiser in LA. I just started my own Fashion site. Check it out for multiple post a day on all things fashion. I'm following, I hope you'll follow back.
ReplyDeleteThanks love. xoxo.

I have to tell you I really enjoy your blog. It is one of the few I read regularly. Don't worry, my baby boy is 9 mos old too and is perfectly content sitting. He has no desire to crawl yet. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun weekend too. That story about the whale was sad. Poor thing. :(
ReplyDeleteaw, thanks for the link love, joanna! hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo.
ReplyDeleteI just looked at the loneliest whale in the world post. The back story of is that I just broke up with my boyfriend of 3 and half years this week. I actually feel like the loneliest whale in the world so I click the link and open the page up to see my name, Julia, across the screen, then I read the story- its just so ironic. Although the story is not about me its funny to be identified as the loneliest whale at first.
ReplyDeleteI have a special occasion today! Great post. Happy weakend!
ReplyDeleteJust be careful what you wish for with your little guy. Mine started to crawl at 5 months and climb EVERYTHING by 7 months. Oh how I wish I could have gotten more time with him just chilling.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
The Cheeky Cafe
Happy weekend! I love this list, so many new things for what I fell in love with.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I can't believe Toby's already nine months old! Time flies, doesn't it!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend, Joanna!

Hallo! Have a fab weekend. I've been to an artists market...and will be off to a permaculture meet tomorrow! Your pics are great, always good to see a slice of life on the other side of the world
ReplyDeleteMaybe Toby will take off when he has some place he wants to go.Try not to scream when you see him walking around. It can happen.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, blanket on floor one of you in the front encouraging (not teasing) with fav toys, the other of you by his side with hands at Toby's feet. When he puts pressure on the hands, then propell him forward a little so he associates moving with his own steam, not the hands. Goog luck and a fun week-end
isn't that wallpaper amazing?! Have fun tonight!
ReplyDelete(I have The Sartorialist book too) anyways have a great weekend
ReplyDeletetmr I'm trying to get full pack of macarons and not worry about anything else..

What!? He's nine months old? I feel like he was just born about a minute ago.
ReplyDeleteMy son spent about three weeks in the blissful sit but didn't move phase and then he started crawling. Then he started walking five months later. Now he runs everywhere very very fast and my heart is constantly in my throat as I watch him hurtle down the street as I call for the millionth time, "Stop!" He's two. Live it up in the non mobile world while you can! :-)
Love it all! and I'm a huge an of the lipstain--I wore in on my wedding:

ReplyDeleteoh my, the loneliest whale story just made me cry. my heart is now broken for her :(
ReplyDeleteMy dad bought my son those MI mittens!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection! The whale post made me tear up. And as a native Michigander that moved to Chicago, I would LOVE a pair of those mittens - they'd come in real "handy" when I try to tell people where I'm from haha.
ReplyDeleteEeeee Joanna!!!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to thank you for the London fabric post! I saw it in a fabric store in Nashville last fall and have regretted buying it since!!! Now I can get it, you are the best.
Xo
Karen
I looooove reminders of what an absolute classic "Annie Hall" is.
ReplyDeleteExcited to see what 20x200 has in store. And I really like Kim's watercolors. Thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteDon't fret. It took my nephew forever to crawl. He has a peculiar fascination with cell phones (so shiny and forbidden!) so finally we tied a string around my phone and dragged it away from him while he was playing on the floor (like we were playing with a kitten), and sure enough he took off after it. I think he was about 10.5 months when it happened. He's 14 months now and now we can't get him to hold still!
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to do the same thing as BuffaloBeaux suggested. If you put interesting things just out of his reach and don't give in when he fusses about it, he'll find the motivation to reach it on his own. Funny how that works.
ReplyDeleteI adore those Michigan mittens!
ReplyDeleteLove the look.. fantastic! I really love your pics... just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis will not really have effect, I consider like this.
ReplyDeletenerd glasses | sofa manufacturers | greetings cards | home refinancing | san diego hotel
This will not really work, I suppose this way.
