When is the last time you wore khakis? For me, I think it was seventh grade and it wasn't pretty. :) But this Parisian cutie looks so adorable that it makes me want to run out and get a pair. Where do you stand on khaki pants? Thumbs up or down?(Photo by The Locals)

thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteI love this look so much! Thumbs up for sure!
ReplyDeleteIf I can look like this - then thumbs up!
ReplyDelete100% DO!! Looks smart.
ReplyDeletehttp://soyfrivolita.blogspot.com/
Definitely up - they're a staple in my wardrobe - so many ways to dress them up or down, conservative or forward - but it's the cut that's crucial!! I'm loving the new J. Crew cafe capri - fits great!!
ReplyDeletethumbs sideways. she looks cute but i would look like an old man.
ReplyDeleteKhakis do remind me of school days, these are ccute on her though!
ReplyDeleteI have an Artful Offering and great interview on my site. You will love it!

Thumbs up as they are so versatile and comfy!
ReplyDeleteso I guess this is proof parisians can look good in anything, huh?
ReplyDeleteThumbs down. Just cover her cute face and glasses and her body looks like a thinner version of Pat from SNL.
ReplyDeleteI say thumbs up in theory, although I can never find a pair that fits great. I do however have some great khaki shorts that I love.
ReplyDeleteI like them in the J Crew catalog, but not so much on me. This look is cute, though...
ReplyDeleteIt's thumbs up for me and she looks so adorable:) French girls have such a great style! Kisses
ReplyDeletethumbs up, I'm planning to get some soon.
ReplyDeleteworn the right way: a big, big thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteso cute. i'm trying to switch it up a bit and not wear jeans so often (as in almost every day). khakis are a great alternative...if they fit properly!!! jcrew is showing them off on their site right now and i'm really loving the looks! xo
ReplyDeleteHonestly? Thumbs down... I think khakis makes you look older than you are and it's not trendy. Maybe if you're going to hike or something. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a "Bellissimo" Day!

Can I do "thumbs up" and "thumbs down"? Like you, I haven't worn them in a looong time. But, they look so adorable when worn right! I think I may need to go and grab a pair just to try them out. If nothing else, they'd be a good excuse to go on safari?.. :)
ReplyDeletewww.sproutthroughconcrete.com
khakis, khakis, khakis! in skinny, rolled with loafers! long with a pair of heels! everyone in new york wears them, i swear. i don't know a single person without a pair, and somehow they always look chic. i have three go-to pairs: (1) standard khaki, ancient from jcrew (like from high school), (2) low-rise, super skinny from zara which look fabulous with everything, and (3) pixie from jcrew recently. love, love, love.
ReplyDeletei feel kinda butch in khaki pants, but skirts are a different story.
ReplyDeleteThumbs down. At least for myself. Maybe I've seen them paired with berks and socks too many times in college.
ReplyDeleteI love how she paired with a light blue botton-down and a brown skinny belt. Thumbs Up!

raleigh-elizabeth, i love your pointers!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness--7th grade & khakis! Spot on! I wore mine with a button down sunflower patterned blouse from the Gap that pretty much every girl in the class owned. Gotta love those early 90s trends!
ReplyDeleteI really like this look, though! Thumbs up for sure! :)
For me, thumbs down. But on others they can look good. I just don't love them.
ReplyDeleteI think they're a big ol yes *UNDER THE CONDITION* that they fit well. Worn with a great deep v-neck, you can't go wrong.
ReplyDeleteI actually really like khakis, but I never think to wear them! And I totally agree that good fit is a must.
ReplyDeleteps - y'all should stop by Ruffled Rose today. I'm hosting a giveaway!
Thumbs down! :( Everyone in khakis looks like a tourist. And not in a cute way.
ReplyDeleteI like it! thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteI would usually say thumbs down, but a cute little cropped pair totally gets a thumbs up this season!
ReplyDeletehttp://bornandbread.blogspot.com
Thumbs Up! Khakis are classic!
ReplyDeleteInto it, I am looking for a pleated pair myself even though I probably used to make fun of people who wore pleated kakis. Eeek.
ReplyDeleteLove the look!!! Super cute!!! Best part is they can be dresses up or dressed down!
ReplyDeletewww.mrscapretta.blogspot.com
It depends, khakis can cover such a wide range of pants in my book. These too look a little...uncomfortable?
ReplyDeletewww.luckylucychance.blogspot.com
Ooh! Might have to put khaki's on my "need" list for summer!
ReplyDeleteMe too!! I used to wear it as part of a school uniform, so I think since then, I haven't worn a single pair. I've seen celebs (& Parisians!) wear them and look so chic - I just don't know if I'd be able to wear it with their level of confidence and comfort :)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea, but you have to be so very careful that you don't end up looking dowdy. Maybe a khaki pant in a jodhpur style would look cute with a t-shirt or something. Hmm, kinda like the idea.
ReplyDeleteI wear them because I'm a teacher, but I'm very aware that I look super dorky. A pair of good-fitting khakis is harder to find than a pair of good jeans. Oh, well. Maybe one day I'll find the perfect pair
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to say yes. I can't wear jeans to work (I know so sad) so I'm used to wearing khakis and trousers.
ReplyDeletehaha, aaron, so funny :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to say Thumbs Up (with uber enthusiasm), but every time I try them on, there's just something about the khakis that doesn't (ever) look like this pretty Parisian girl.
ReplyDeleteSo cute~ I think khakis should make a (modern) comeback!
ReplyDeletexo,
Luce
http://galipettelu.blogspot.com/
Agreed, wholeheartedly. She looks casual but put-togehter. Super-pretty.
ReplyDeleteI think of them as kind of a staple and like anything, worn the right way is a big thumbs up.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up! I think that khakis are so classic and she is wearing them perfectly.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they are flat-front (I want to put that in all caps but I'll spare everyone). Also don't wear them w/tons of preppy accessories because it's dumb looking. The nerd look might be cute on a young skinny Parisienne but not on most of us. I have a pair I've worn all over the world & people ask about them. I bought them in a running-through-Nordstrom mania on the way to an airport in DC on the way to Athens. In 1988. Yep. (Flat front - yell it from the rooftops, peeps.)
ReplyDeleteCheers.
oh man. DOWN!!
ReplyDeletesometimes i think that if there is one article of clothing that i could do without (on anyone), it would be khakis.
yick!
I like them! But not so much on me...
ReplyDeleteNever one to shy away from preppy come-backs, I can not embrace the khaki. I've tried, and I do have a cute pair of jcrew ones that have only been worn, maybe once. At the shore. To go to church with my in-laws.
ReplyDeleteI'll leave them to the models, I'm just too petite!
Thumbs sideways? I think the darker more camel color is way better than light khakis, and fit matters a lot. Particularly if you (like me) have hips or are curvy in the lower half. I have a great pair from Theory that I love, but have had some bad luck in the past.
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to lie... I love khakis! Especially if they're a little worn in and you can roll up the bottoms. If I'm in the mood for a little relaxed prep, I pull them out. Like some have mentioned, you just have to wear them the right way! : )
ReplyDeleteI love this look, thumbs up!
ReplyDeletewww.HemenwayStreet.com
Up! I love em.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up for her---Thumb down for me! I cannot pull this look off. I am a teacher--maybe that's why--too cliche!
ReplyDeleteShe is super cute, but those khakis are a little too tight - looking at her from the waist down is painful1
ReplyDeleteMy sister won't wear them as she said she always feels like she should be waiting tables in a Denny's.
ReplyDeleteshe does look good in caches but she also has a gorgeous face and great big fake glasses!

Defo thumbs up! x
ReplyDeleteI really like this looks but I don't think I'll work for me.
ReplyDelete500 thumbs up.
ReplyDeleteKakhis are a fun break from jeans - I love a pair that's cropped, distressed, or rolled! Banana had a great pair last Spring that I wear all the time.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up! I've seen so many women wearing khakis in fun, fashionable ways, it makes me want to run out and buy a pair, too!
ReplyDeleteThey would be a nice alternative to jeans, but not sure if I could shake the prep school feeling.
ReplyDeleteI think it all depends on the cut! 7th grade khakis were probably not as flattering as some of the options out there now, haha :) I would wear skinny khakis with that button down shirt. So cute and preppy!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Lisa
The answer is in the question: Of course they look fabulous on a Parisian cutie, but less so on an American frumpy. I think I'll stick to my structured denim thankyouverymuch. My hat is off to the gal who can pull this off!
ReplyDeleteI just took my high school flared khakis in to make them skinnies and now I LOVE them. It all depends on the cut!

Freckles in April | a modest clothing blog
thumbs down for me. but i commend (and sometimes envy) all who can pull this look off!
ReplyDeleteKhakis seem more like work clothes to me. They've really been making a comeback here in France though.
ReplyDeletethumbs up! khakis can be cute and sexy when done well :)
ReplyDeleteKhakis! I love khakis! Maybe it's because I'm Southern-born. Khakis & pearls, mmm. But really, I only like the more olive-colored, not the true lighter khaki--those are a no-go!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up for sure!! Bring it back! ha
ReplyDeletei just bought my first pair of khakis since high school. i feel very cape cod. pairing them with a pair of topsiders and an ll bean bag...love it
ReplyDeleteKhakis are cute. I should look into getting some. Maybe Zara? The last time I wore them was for my very first job at Pagliacci pizza in Seattle - I bought Dickies because I love their pockets!
ReplyDeletethumbs up! i wear them to work at least once a week.
ReplyDeleteIf I could pull them off, I'd say thumbs up. I have several pairs for work but they are always the last thing I consider.
ReplyDeleteI say go for it! I love this look, its classic & elegant. I think the last time I wore Khakis was maybe a year ago. Old navy had some wide legged khakis that I loved :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely thumbs up!
ReplyDeletehaha thats funny i sort of imagined you to be a stylish 7th grader, since you have such great style now :) ...thumbs up super cute!
ReplyDeletedefinitely looks cute if they're skinny, but the right kind of shorts and an oxford shirt is also really cute.
when i did my student-teaching, i wore khakis every monday! they're just a must for business casual work environments!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up if they are super cute like these. I do prefer no pockets in the front and skinny. Wonder if there is such a thing!
ReplyDeletestill love them - still wear them - more so though in the spring/summer. Love the men's cut style but for women - JCrew always has some nice ones and even GAP sometimes.
ReplyDeletedo! if it's straight leg and cuffed
ReplyDeleteIf they are very slouchy (like Annie Hall's), I'm in. But these... I hate to say it, but this outfit could so easily slip into "Pat" territory.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up! They just have to have a great fit or they can look very "mom pants" ish. yikes!
ReplyDeleteDon't like at all!!!
ReplyDeletesorry!
xoxo
Kit
I think if done the right way super cute. Oh and if they don't have a pleated front and say dockers on the bum or cargo pockets ;)
ReplyDeletethumbs up! I love the look, but for me to wear them it MUST be the right fit..
ReplyDeleteThumbs down! Waaaaaaay down.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up. 7th grade was awkward for everyone. Grown-up khakis can totally be preppy-sexy.
ReplyDeletethumbs down. in comparison to other pants they just don't measure up for me. unless you are out on safari. :)
ReplyDeleteToday at work.
ReplyDelete(I'm a programmer and work in a "business casual" office. I've been so happy not to have to wear dress pants to work!)
But, in general thumbs up for work and thumbs down elsewhere.
The Lands End Canvas khaki crops...so nice. They were on sale, too a bit back...
ReplyDelete'Can look very cute, or very drab.
I honestly think slender legs & blonde hair helps...you have the slender legs part down...go for it!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of blonde/camel blonde/khaki.
I like this look, but a bit edgier with maybe peg-shaped khakis and heeled brogues. A crisp cotton shirt is always a winner!
ReplyDeleteLove them! I wear them cuffed at the ankle with fierce shoes!
ReplyDeleteLove them! I wear them cuffed at the ankle with fierce shoes!
ReplyDeletethey're coming back! h&m has some cute ones!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up...on anyone but me. Every time I see khaki's worn like this I think to myself "wow, these are freakishly adorable." Then I go out and try a pair on, and I think "wow, these are freakishly...freakish." Ah well, I guess I'll have to continue to live vicariously through other people's ability to rock the khaki look.
ReplyDeletewww.rufflesandramblings.com
it would depend on the pants in question (there are always exceptions, no?), but generally khaki is way too "suburban, minivan, preppy, conservative" for me.
ReplyDeleteThumbs way up!!! I tend to live in chinos and khakis in the summer, I find them much more comfortable than jeans actually and I think they tend to look cuter. But just like with jeans the key to the whole thing is how well they fit and how they are cut. Both can get frumpy really quickly if not cut to flatter your shape.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up.
ReplyDeletePaired with a tank, a fitted top, a cute belt...
Ummm thumbs up but it has to be the right cut. I'm a fan of tailored skinny khakis.
ReplyDeletewith the right cut, yes! absolutely! they do, however, remind me of a summer job in college in which we had to wear khakis and polos. certainly never this cute :)
ReplyDeletekhakis look so bad on me (I have thighs...thighs + light colored pants= no!) but she does pull it of nicely
ReplyDeletekind of loving this!!! so chic.
ReplyDeletehttp://prettylittlethingsbymelissa.blogspot.com/
Thumbs down. I just cannot do them. They are too preppy for my liking. Look great on some - but just not true to who I am so I will continue to pass.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
B
2 thumbs down. Even on the Parisian cutie. Khakis are too bunchy around the bidness.
ReplyDeleteTwo thumbs up! I'm a fan and wearer! There was a great ad campaign someone had a long time ago "who wore khakis?" with sepia photos. ... Marilyn Monroe was one :)
ReplyDeletexo isa
My issue with khakis was always either the cut or the color - they never looked as good as a pair of jeans or formal trousers for work. They were always too short or a weird material that was too wrinkly. And the color never went with anything in my closet. I wish I would have bought the boyfriend khakis that Gap was selling a few years ago (remember the uber-cute commercial with Claire Danes and her husband?) but I didn't have the $ at the time... haven't seen a pair remotely worth buying since...
ReplyDeletesuper cute!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up! She looks GREAT! xoxo Marie
ReplyDeletetotally cute-but you have to 1. North American or 2. super slim to carry it off...
ReplyDeleteThumbs down! She looks cute though... :)
ReplyDeletethumbs up! I usually only wear ones with pockets in the back otherwise I won't wear them (it makes my butt look even flatter without them lol). The Gap or Levi have the best!!!
ReplyDeleteNicole C.
Thumbs up - sometimes! They look so nice when I flip through the J. Crew catalog or browse in a store, but something happens after I buy them and I don't ever end up thinking they look good on me!
ReplyDeleteI love them. I think they can be super cute rolled up at the bottom and worn with a pair of desert boots!
ReplyDeleteI'm a thumbs down, but it depends on the style, these look positively adorable.
ReplyDeleteI'm a thumbs up! But I will say finding a good pair that fits well and just the right color is tough.
ReplyDeletei think if they're a darker khaki (either camel or let's not forget the greenish shade, as well!) and a slim cut they can look good.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of things like khaki bermuda shorts or capris or even cigarette pants. She does pull this look off nicely, but in my imagination, the pants end just above the knee!! That's totally just my preference, though. :)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.togetherinadream.blogspot.com/
As a teacher who isn't allowed to wear jeans at school, I wear khakis all the time. Thanks for showing this look, it's super cute!
ReplyDeleteI think Kakis pants are great - as long as they're in a fresh, modern cut (like ankle, or a boy trouser). I think a flared pair of light kakis are hard to pull off ... although I'm sure a Parisian could prove me wrong!
ReplyDeleteYou have to have the right body to pull them off correctly. You do.
ReplyDeleteGo for it.
Yes! They're so classy. Now I want to find the perfect pair of khaki pants (skinny?). Fit is everything. Too bad I just instituted a shopping ban on myself. :P
ReplyDeleteOrdinarily, no.
ReplyDeleteBut she looks cute, so....
Still, I think I would go with something else.
windeater.blogspot.com
Beautiful girl! I'm definitely feeling the preppy turning of the tide. But as regards to the photo, her khakis look painfully tight in the crotch and the belt is also too small!
ReplyDeleteShe looks gorgeous. My last khaki's time was in high school... a looong time ago ! But it's a good idea to try it again... Thanks Joanna !
ReplyDeleteSuch a case by case call, however, this, thumbs up.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I agree khakis in the school days was a horror film in the making
ReplyDeleteI love khakis! I don't currently have a pair (depending on styles sometimes they are hard to find in cute styles) but if I found a pair of those I would snatch them right up!
ReplyDeletei don't think they suit me. they make me feel too corporate ... like i'm working a trade show or something ... you know? yick!
ReplyDeleteI love khakis and cotton pants in different colors, and these look great!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up! It often can be hit or miss, but I dont totally rule them.
ReplyDeleteI never wore them until I had to wear them to work, and now I really hate wearing them on my days off. Maybe once I get a REAL job I'll start to like them again. I do really like the wide leg pair they have at the Gap right now though...
ReplyDeleteShe looks cute but for me it's a thumbs down.
ReplyDeletethumbs up on her, not sure it would be on me though! i'm coveting glasses like the ones she is wearing as well.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes! I love the khaki look. I've been planning to get some AND a chambray top just like hers this Summer:)
ReplyDeleteLove this photo--saved it! Thanks for sharing:)
I say khaki's are definitely a go, as long as you have the right shirt and shade.
xoxoxo
I think it looks bad. They look like a bad fit, and the belt creeping up over the top is just too much.
ReplyDeleteI love khakis but the darker colored ones. They look a lot better on me.
ReplyDeleteMy Heart Blogged
I'm with you, I can't remember the last time I wore khakis... But I always love them on others! I say it's a go, give them another try and see how you feel!
ReplyDeleteLove this look! Copying today :)
ReplyDeletewww.CelebrityOwned.com
Not to be a total drag, but this look seems pretty hard to pull off. Had she had dark hair I may have mistaked her for the old Pat character from SNL. But, I guess it only goes to show that maybe blondes do have more fun. With, um, khakis.
ReplyDeleteI own like four pairs of khakis :X but only because I work for Target and it's required. I like the darker ones better, and the skinny are cute paired with flats and a darker top.
ReplyDeleteThumb ups all the way!
I always see them on other people and they look great, but they never look that great on me. I wear mine golfing!
ReplyDeleteThey're a DO. Slightly tapered leg rolled up, ballet flats and a striped tee... Totally french chic.
ReplyDeletewhere do you get glasses like that?
ReplyDeletethumbs up if it is a right cut
ReplyDeleteThumbs down... truly dislike
ReplyDeleteThumbs up, especially if worn with those awesome glasses!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up!
ReplyDeleteI look like a postal worker in khakis. It's sad.
ReplyDeletexox
Lexi @ http://glitterandpearls.com
having worked in a country club for several years during college, I have sworn off both khakis and polo shirts. they both give me the hives now.
ReplyDeleteOh thumbs up, yes...while there's no doubt that Parisian women can take anything and make it look chic, I still love my khakis. I feel preppy in them, whether I look it or not!!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up! I have a pair of slightly wide-leg khakis that I got SIX years ago at the Gap that I wear pretty regularly--they look cute with almost anything, but especially a denim jacket and sneakers.
ReplyDeleteIf it´s worn like this... than I love it!
ReplyDeleteI think it's just a matter of the cut of the pant and how they fit. Just like blue jeans... everyone likes a certain look. I like khakis if they have the current slim leg look, in fact I have a pair of green ones from JC Penney, so they didn't cost an arm and a leg to buy.
ReplyDeleteDI
I wore them every day to work until last week when I got a pair of lovely grey slacks. Which I love and may never take off. Thus khakis bore me to tears. Plus I am overweight and they don't look good on me.
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend wears them every day too, but they look nice on him and I always imagine them as a permanent part of the Peter Outfit.
They're my teaching staple! If I could I'd wear my pair twice a week :) I tend not to though.
ReplyDeleteBut a definite thumbs up!
Two thumbs down (for me). I've bought several pairs over the years thinking that I should get use them as a good work alternative to jeans. They never looked or felt good.
ReplyDeletekhaki shorts with chambray shirt yes yes yes! khaki pants...eh
ReplyDeleteI live on the south shore of Boston where khakis are a way of life (Nantucket red mostly). I can't fathom someone not having worn them since grade school!
ReplyDeletehuge fan of a uniform at any age. However I live in a small conservative town and here I would blend into the rest of the soccers moms.
ReplyDeleteI'm Renee and a new follower of your blog! Just thought I'd say hello, rather than be one of those creepy people that lurks around on your page haha
ReplyDeleteanyhoot, i love what you've got going here, very cute!
Feel free to take a look at mine [you know, just so you know who's reading yours :)]

Oh, girl. You are missing out. I love love love khakis. It's just hard to find a great pair. :)
ReplyDeleteSkirts and shorts, yes! :) But I haven't found a pair of pants that look good... I either look like a cow or they bunch up weird. :(
ReplyDeleteI haven't worn them in a while but after seeing this cute outfit I think I will go get a pair just like these!!!
ReplyDeleteMe and my tired jeans thank you!
I'm wearing them right now with a navy and white striped shirt and a big flower pin!
ReplyDeleteI think its one of those trends that will be hot now, and not so hot tomorrow. To keep up with those type of quickies I usually go the inexpensive route.. to H&M and Forever. I found some really cute kakis at H&M that are definitely worth the try!

i went to private school so for me khakis equal a (nightmarish, pleated!!!) trip down memory lane. i don't think i'll ever like khakis again. it doesn't matter who is wearing them, i can't see them in any other way than "dowdy 9 year old". yes, they were so bad they made grade school girls look dowdy!!
ReplyDelete(however, khaki material- if it's well cut and in colors like navy or olive...i'm ok :) )
Thumbs up if you're super duper thin, stylish, and confident like her. But big thumbs down for like, 98% of the population. They can go so wrong so very very fast.
ReplyDeleteGoodness gracious, people. She looks like Pat from Saturday Night Live. You know, Pat... male/female we don't know.
ReplyDeleteA DON'T.
As a relatively slender 54 year old woman, huge thumbs up. But I CANNOT find any good ones. Nowhere. Can you ask her where she got those?:).
ReplyDeleteI've always loved khakis. The color is timeless. The fabric is just so comfortable.
ReplyDeleteI love this look...
ReplyDeleteGotta say I like khaki's (never wore them as a kid...it was kilt's all the way!) and I have a mean pair of oxfords that they would go great with, nerd chic...it's still in!
Thumbs up all the way! I haven't found the right pair yet, but when I do it will be magical!
ReplyDeleteI had the same awkward stage with Khakis and they left me scared. But, like almost anything, if it is worn right (great shade, shape, and cut) then it looks great :)
ReplyDeleteGeek chic...yes! Khaki pants, capris with flats. Annie Hall, both Ms. Hepburns, all great variations of the khaki look. Loving this trend with trim button-downs and cute cardigans.
ReplyDeletethose are adorable and chic, but thumbs down because they just remind me of the middle school awkwardness that they were! blerg!
ReplyDeleteUP! We are returning to the classics - sport it with something unexpected I say! Wear them big & roll the cuffs, finish with heels!
ReplyDeletehttp://inherentstylela.blogspot.com/
Thumbs down. I see the beginning's of a camel toe!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up definitely!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://spot-ninety-two.blogspot.com/
I'm a very fashionable teacher and I love my khakis from The LOFT. I even have a pair in a super cute rosy blush color....and they fit great.
ReplyDeletei love all the comments from teachers who wear khakis :)
ReplyDeleteI wear them all the time! Go for it.
ReplyDeleteI would love it if you stopped by my blog http://mainstreetsisters.blogspot.com/
Just did a fun post about Hearst Castle!
Definitely thumbs up! You can dress for so many looks with khakis. Preppy, vintage, sporty, classic....
ReplyDeletei wear khakis every day to work (walmart) so I don't usually wear them otherwise.....
ReplyDeleteI love her cute style!! In her case, I say it's a definite DO. I had to wear khakis to work years ago and had the hardest time finding ones with a good fit. They were all super flare or boxy and baggy in the upper front, but hers are awesome.
ReplyDeleteUP!! (and i'm not just saying this because i work for dockers)
ReplyDeleteThumbs up, I ♥ khaki's.This look is adorable.
ReplyDeleteLove it. Thumbs up.
ReplyDeletethumbs down. i have never found a pair that fit and/or flatter!
ReplyDeleteI am for a new loo--bringing back something that we no longer think is cool! SO I say thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteI think that as long as you steer clear of the whole "I am currently on safari and my pants can prove it" look thats out there right now, khakis can be simple and elegant! Plus they almost match with anything since they can come in various shades!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a DO! I love this pic!!!
ReplyDeleteDo!! It's fun when you're in a preppy mood!! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo happy I stumbled on your blog, it's fantastic! Following you now. ;)

on this lady thumbs up for sure- and on you- I more Christina Hendricks than Jane Birkin sadly (we always want to be what we are not) and so I think, for me, trousers are never a winner- but it's a gret gamine look
ReplyDeleteTry Jcrew's "Wavery chino", it's a more modern way to do khakis (I have them in the midnight color). You can roll them up and wear them with heels too. They are also super comfortable.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/pants/chinoutility/PRDOVR~29468/29468.jsp
The khaki pant for women says "I give up. I can't wear jeans to this event and my knitwear pants are all pilled up, so these khakis will do." I wear khakis around the house for cleaning or going to the home and garden store when dirty work is involved. I just think the khaki is more like a nun's habit than a practical go to piece of clothing.
ReplyDeletekhakis are making a comeback. your husband should check out the new khaki wader or Slim tapered from dockers! also check out: thekhakichronicles.com
ReplyDeleteI always feel so P.E. teacher-esh when I wear khakis, but I always try different cool brands of the khaki color bc I feel it would go with everything in my closet. Still on my quest to find the perfect pair, so this is getting a thumb sideways for now. The girl in the pic looks very cutesy.
ReplyDelete
