My dad and brother are obsessed with all things automotive. When we were teeny, I remember sitting in my dad's lap while we watched the Grand Prix on TV, and he would tip and turn along with the cars. I know they'd love these wooden race tracks to hang on the wall, which are surprisingly beautiful.(Via Swissmiss)

heh, i actually really like these.
ReplyDeleteWow, these are very cool. I'm personally a MotoGP enthusiast, not so much into auto racing. But They also Race GP on some of these tracks.
ReplyDeletegreat idea! very original!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to add some stylish masculinity to a room!
ReplyDeleteit's very nice! And those race car prints?! Love them!

My grandfather was a race car driver and he is still completely obsessed to this day, watching any possible race he can catch on television. He would absolutely love these! Thanks for sharing.

Very cool. My husband's entire family drag races. But I guess a straight line wouldn't be very exciting to hang on a wall.
ReplyDeleteMy father in law is a classic car junkie and has been known to get busted drag racing when he was younger (with his priest friend in the passenger seat no less!) That picture made me think of him instantly!
ReplyDeleteThese are truly stunning. If I just saw a photo, I would think it was artwork, not a racetrack!
ReplyDeletethat is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy Balazs is crazy about Grand Prix and he would totally love something like that in his office! Have a lovely day. Kisses
ReplyDeleteThat's just so darn clever!
ReplyDeleteSo very cool. My husband and father in law both follow Formula One like it is a religion! Can't wait to get some of these for them! Great gifts of art!
ReplyDeletemy husband loves formula one, thanks for showing these :)!
ReplyDeleteyour little guy is looking so cute too.
i am in love with this!! stephen and i watch moto gp racing all the time and he would absolutely love this...we got to visit the laguna seca raceway on our honeymoon, that would be amazing if they had that one!!
ReplyDeleteMy brothers would love these!!!
ReplyDeleteMy dad always asked that when I become a millionare (which I'm no where near being), if I would get him tickets to the Grand Prix de Monaco. Now I can bring Monaco to him. Christmas present? I think so!
ReplyDeleteI love taking something completely unexpected and hanging it on the wall as art! Great idea!! Thanks for sharing. : )
ReplyDeletewatched grand prix in singapore last year, was mesmerized by the engine sound! these are very cool wall art, i know my brother would kill for one!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing Monaco! I see the bus stop, swimming pool, and that's all I know. Massa at Monaco
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect!! My dad has been a member of the FIA (they regulate the F1 rules) for so many years and both him and my brother have been involved in many different ways with the F1 for sooo long. This is perfect for them!! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteCLASS!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure based on the first photo, but the second one had me sold. It looks great actually on the wall.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! and neat wall art even for anyone ... or adorable in a little boy's room!
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I do have to say they are missing elevation change, which kind of wrecks it for me. If I had one of these I'd want to line it up down my line-of sight and imagine taking the corners. The drama of the corkscrew and eau rouge would be totally lost in this 2-d format...
ReplyDeleteI was made to watch the Grand Prix too (so much chicer than Nas Car) and it robbed off- I love F1.
ReplyDeleteThose are really cool.
I'm also looking forward to the forthcoming film about Ayrton Senna.
I am so excited, I just ordered the Monaco track - I'm taking my husband there this year for his 50th! He's going to love this. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeletemy dad got one of these for christmas
ReplyDeletehe races historic formula one cars!
he loved it
they are actually really cool looking - i liked it too

ps - last year when he raced in monaco he WON! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever thing to make!! Now if only I could find someone who loved nascar..... :)
ReplyDeleteI have not-so-great memories of having to sit through what seemed like an entire lifetime of a single NASCAR race with my dad when I was younger...hahahaha....I bet he would love these decorative racetracks!
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you for sharing this!!! My husband is all about the racing world... and it can be such a challenge when he likes all this car memorabilia that is just so, so... hideous. I keep trying to put an "artsy" spin on it to pass it off as "decor". This is a great find!
ReplyDeleteThanks a ton!

you're right - they are surprisingly beautiful. if someone explained these to me, i don't think i'd envision something so aesthetically pleasing.
ReplyDeletethose hanged frames all look so great
ReplyDeleteIt was too good as there is hardly anytime I have read such an article on the web; most of the things are not worth reading. Great post!!Used Toyota Rush | Nissan Tiida Hatchback
