Our staycation in New York last week was really refreshing and relaxing. (Thanks again to Miss Moss for guest posting!) While my mom took care of Toby, Alex and I met up with friends, rode bikes to Williamsburg, went bowling (for real), got massages, sipped gin cocktails at this rad bar, saw The King's Speech, hit up the Guggenheim, and went ice skating in Central Park. It was so great to just be together and "knock around," as Alex says. We felt like tourists in our own city.We also chilled with my mom and Toby, including brunch at a Mexican place in our neighborhood, where Toby thought the tablecloth was delicious. :) We miss you already, Mama!

ReplyDeleteLove this! I recently took a day-cation (a day long staycation in Boston) and went to the Wellesley College Greenhouses and pretended I was in the rain forest - it was just what the doctor ordered! Also, I love your glasses - may I ask who makes them?

My sister and I were just discussing how we wish our mom was 'more like A Cup of Jo's mom'! How lucky you are. And how fun to spend a week in your own city and act like tourists.
ReplyDeletexo

ReplyDelete-heylee
How cute is that little Toby of yours? I love a good staycation - we live in a tourist down so once a year before tourist season starts we do all of the things that we'll have to avoid like the plague once they start rolling it. It's so fun and reminds us why we chose to live here in the first place.
ReplyDeleteRamblings of a Small Town Girl
