Guest Post: Sophia's Palette

One of the many things I love about vintage Sophia Loren (besides the fact that she's such a babe) is that she's almost always in colourful outfits that perfectly reflect her wonderful character. Her palettes remind me of the work of Gustav Klimt.

Paintings, top to bottom: Houses at Unterach on the Attersee; Ria Munk On Her Deathbed; Fruit Trees; Flower Garden

Thanks for this...a favorite painter & actress. I am so tired of seeing anemic looking models on blogs. This is a welcome respite.

Have you ever seen Bouquets to Art at the DeYoung museum in San Francisco? It kind of reminds me of your post. Florists from all over create a bouquet inspired by the classical paintings in there. Its an amazingly clever and beautiful exhibit and I strongly recommend!

So beautiful! All of it, the colors, the photos, the outfits! I worry that we've lost that elegance that women all had at one point, that our casual day-to-day will never be timeless...I guess we'll see!

You would love this restaurant called Food Lab here in LA Joanna - all the artwork on the wall are old photographs of Sophia Lauren preparing food, or presenting food... I will try to feature a post of Food Lab some day soon!

Have a lovely weekend!
