ReplyDeleteSo happy after (just shy of) 7 years of dating my best friend. We met his senior and my junior year of college and have been together since--even through several years of long distance due to grad school. He just took me ring shopping over the holidays and now I'm pretty much on the edge of my seat hoping to formalize what we already feel inside. (our married friends joke and say we're more married than they are) Oh yes, and I'm 28 and have babies on the brain. It would be nice to get those formalities (ring wedding waiting an appropriate amount of time so it doesn't look shotgunny) out of the way first.

I just wanted to share my thoughts with you all - in those long years the fashion on wedding rings has changed a few times! I had a custom made band of gold with no stone but an interesting shape and over these years I've been really glad that I have something that is standing the test of time. I would recommend to new brides that they have a custom ring set of both white and yellow gold as well as a stone for their wedding day that could be switched out depending on fashion and mood. And for me - I need a ring with a stone, and that one is so lovely, I WANT it!
