Home inspiration: Brooklyn brownstone

My friends Mike and Emma shared photos of their Brooklyn brownstone on Design*Sponge this week, and it's as quirky and fun as they are. The coolest part? They have an actual Alex Katz painting in their living room. They found it on eBay for a deal, since it had a small tear in the corner. ("I could care less," Emma says.) Incredible.

And on their perfect paint color: "When we bought the house, the walls were orange—sherbet orange—it was very Santa Fe," says Emma. "We knew we had to get rid of the orange. We spent a lot of time thinking about blues and greys, and this is Wedgewood Blue."

P.S. Their awesome Manhattan wedding.

I love that wall color. I've actually seen Wedgewood Blue around a lot of spaces that I love.
Also, Joanna. I used a picture of you and Toby for a link on my blog, I hope you don't mind.

What fun pieces!
- My brother has asked me to decorate his bedroom, but I have been having the hardest time, he wants either blue or gray walls, this color would perhaps be perfect!

I'm sure theirs is original, but I have always wanted to fake architectural details like the panels in that shot! Would looks so awesome.

Gorgeous paint colour! Wedgewood Blue...I shall make note of that. What brand did they happen to use? Something fancy like Farrow & Ball? Or something more "everyday user" like Benjamin Moore? In any case, love their palette! My kind of place!

I loved this living room when I saw it on d*s! On my monitor, though, the walls look more the ever-so-pale seagrass green that I have been coveting for ages, and which I finally found: Pearl Colour at The Little Greene. Given that my sofa is also tufted charcoal, I am now confident that it will all work well together. :-)
