Funny chocolate bars

This weekend, Alex, Toby and I walked by a new store, The Meadow, in the West Village. The shop sells chocolate, flowers and artisan salts (it's all about life's simple pleasures), and we splurged on these Komforte Chockolate bars. Aren't the flavors fun? They were really delicious.
P.S. They'd make cute stocking stuffers.
P.P.S. I'm so excited for this year's gift guide!

ooh! I saw this place reviewed in the Times a few weekends ago- their primary spot is in Portland, OR and I was so frustrated we didn't know about it for our Honeymoon last month. Next time we're back in NYC totally checking it out.

I live in Portland, which is the other location of this shop, and I'm planning on buying some of those crazy chocolate bars as stocking stuffers this year!
Hey Joanna! My husband created Komforte Chockolates! I'm so glad you enjoyed them. The Meadow have been huge supporters of ours, plus its just an amazing store.

Next time you go, you have to try Xocolatl de David's chocolates- he makes salted caramel bars (personal favorite) and piment de espalet chocolates- all by hand, in a tiny studio in Portland, Oregon. Love.
I don't think ANYONE is more excited for your gift guide this year than me!
love love loooove it!
ooh la la!
the french toast is calling to me!!
very cool stocking stuffer idea.
What doesn't taste good in chocolate?? p.s. I heard that there's in ten years, a snickers could cost $20...!
ramen noodles minus the icky yellow flavor packet, I assume?? eek!
I am so in love with this chocolate trend. There are so many varieties of chocolate coming out and my husband and I love to try new ones all the time!
These are too cute! I'd go for some french toast chocolate.

Amusing + clever...quite the conversation pieces.
Call me a chicken, but I don't think I could handle the ramen noodle option. Emotionally too, you know?! I instantly think of 1st year at college, scrounging by...

Hmm those look really yummie! I love the design wrappers ;)
They look fun! But I'm not sure how the ramen and tortilla chips would taste. Have you tried them yet? Were they delicious?
mmmm. These look delicious. I am very curious as to what they actually taste like. This is a wonderful stocking stuffer idea for my hubby. Thank you for sharing. P.S Did you ever find yourself a photo intern?

we haven't tried the ramen one yet, but we LOVED the tortilla lime and salt. it's super tangy and salty and amazing!
I didn't know The Meadow opened up a NY branch. They are an awesome shop around the corner from my in Portland, Or. I just tried the French toast bar last week - very yummy.
(Also check out Meadow salt blocks next time you are in)

I don't know how I feel about Ramen plus chocolate, but I still want to try one of the Vosges bacon chocolate bars!
That's interesting... we have that store here in Portland too! Who knew they had more than one location? :) ITs such a great combo, salt, chocolate and flowers...
I put the Ramen one in my hubby's Christmas stocking last year. It was actually pretty delicious.
FEED ME!
Those sounds amazing. Did they have pickle flavor chocolate?
The packaging is so cute on those chocolate bars. Entices you to be a bit daring and try the flavours even though they don't sound so appealing!
Have you ever heard of Theo Chocolate (from Seattle?). They are really well known in the Northwest for their fair trade chocolate and unusual flavors (like bread and chocolate and bacon!).
Loving the type on these.
I'm a sucker for anything chocolate
Hmmmm... I'm a girl who likes her chocolate. But are those flavors really good??
sweet freak, yes -- they're soooo delicious. sometimes chocolate flavors are too quirky, but these are actually so good.
I just visited the Meadow a few weeks ago when I was in NY! Did you speak with the owner, Mark? Wow, that guys knows salt. I brought home a little pot of truffle salt and have been putting it on EVERYTHING!
Sounds delish.
WOW! These would be perfect for my boyfriend -- he's much more of a savory snacker, and I'm afraid that any more stocking-stuffer beef jerky or stocking-stuffer Marmite might do him in, blood pressure-wise... and Ramen Noodle Chocolate would be right up his alley ... Thanks for the find!
