  22. We get some amazing Honeycrisp apples here in WA. My favorite is to pair them with a good brie, the triple creme kind that I get at whole foods that and a glass of chardonnay. I always bake at least two apple pies in the fall using only Honeycrisp; they always turn out the best.

  31. If you love honeycrisps and cheddar try my fave sandwich in the fall/winter! spread whold grain dijon on 2 slices of whole grain bread. Then put a cheddar on each slice and a thin slice of honeycrips. Then grill it like a grilled cheese. The best combination of flavors!

  41. my son and i like to dip our honeycrisps in yogurt for lunch (sam thinks everything is better with dip :)). he gets yobaby vanilla and i have lemon yoplait.

    If you're ever in San Diego we'll treat you to Stratford Court Cafe's to-die-for apple cheddar sandwiches with a cranberry spread that are quite addicting.

  59. I love apples with cheese. I even extend it to dessert and eat a slice of cheddar with my apple pie.

    Plus honeycrisp are my obsession. The orchard near my university grew only those and we would pick baskets full every fall.

  86. Apples and cheese are one of my favorite meals year round. I stocked up on Honeycrisps at my local cider mill and am loving them! I also love a wonderful ripe pear with some strong cheese (Danish Blue, etc.) or honey drizzled over the same cheese. This is making me very hungry!

    I'd like to add carrots to this combination. For all my life I loved apples and when I was little my mom made me eat everything when there was apple with it.
    One day she grated carrots in very tiny pieces, the same with apples and - on top - some grated cheese.

    And this combination was even better than just apple alone.

  116. If you like the apple + cheddar combination, you must try this:

    Next time you bake a warm, apple pie, top it with a dollop of pimento cheese. I know it sounds weird, but somewhere in the South it must have become a tradition because my family would do that as a special treat, and it really is delicious!!
