Delicious. Honeycrisp were my favourite until I tasted an Ambrosia this year [I had never heard of them previously]. It isn't even close now in terms of my favourite.
I'm loving this combination, myself. Macintosh are awfully good, too!... in a sandwich, with a good, sharp white cheddar and some crisp bacon.
Yes, that or (for me) any pear + Fourme d'Ambert or Bleu d'Auvergne. W/either a little handful of walnuts.

We get some amazing Honeycrisp apples here in WA. My favorite is to pair them with a good brie, the triple creme kind that I get at whole foods that and a glass of chardonnay. I always bake at least two apple pies in the fall using only Honeycrisp; they always turn out the best.

I've recently developed an allergy to apples and it is the WORST! Otherwise, I'd be all over a snack like this! YUM!!
If you love honeycrisps and cheddar try my fave sandwich in the fall/winter! spread whold grain dijon on 2 slices of whole grain bread. Then put a cheddar on each slice and a thin slice of honeycrips. Then grill it like a grilled cheese. The best combination of flavors!

my son and i like to dip our honeycrisps in yogurt for lunch (sam thinks everything is better with dip :)). he gets yobaby vanilla and i have lemon yoplait.

All time favorite snack and lunch option, definitely! We weren't able to find any honeycrisp this season though, so sad. The galas have been delicious but it's just not the same.

My fav apple and cheese combo is Pink Lady with Gjetost (an amazing whey-based cheese that is slow cooked until it carmelizes)!

If you like Honeycrisp, try my new favorite the Jonagold. To die for. The man who owned the apple orchard we picked at this year recommended them. I haven't looked back since.

I never understood the whole cheddar cheese and apple pie thing until my great aunt cut me a slab of each one day.
Great aunts know what they're talking about.
I love apples with cheese. I even extend it to dessert and eat a slice of cheddar with my apple pie.
Plus honeycrisp are my obsession. The orchard near my university grew only those and we would pick baskets full every fall.
My when my husband and I were first dating he brought apples and cheese on a picnic and I had never had it before-I couldn't get enough!

My grandpa always used to eat slices of cheddar cheese with his apple pie.

Apples and cheese are one of my favorite meals year round. I stocked up on Honeycrisps at my local cider mill and am loving them! I also love a wonderful ripe pear with some strong cheese (Danish Blue, etc.) or honey drizzled over the same cheese. This is making me very hungry!

I'd like to add carrots to this combination. For all my life I loved apples and when I was little my mom made me eat everything when there was apple with it.
One day she grated carrots in very tiny pieces, the same with apples and - on top - some grated cheese.

Next time you bake a warm, apple pie, top it with a dollop of pimento cheese. I know it sounds weird, but somewhere in the South it must have become a tradition because my family would do that as a special treat, and it really is delicious!!
