Toby xo

Thank you so much for your sweet comments about Toby. He still has a monster cold (snot is everywhere!) but he's hanging in there like a champ. He's sniffly and sneezy but still manages the odd endearing smile. And he's pretty dazed: When I put him in the bouncy chair, he sat quietly staring at his hands like an old man. Poor baby. We're hoping he'll feel better by tomorrow. xo

(This is a photo of him when he was a week old in his beloved felt moses basket.)

  12. There is something about little babies being sick that makes my heart ache. I read somewhere that getting a little cold once or twice a year for infants-toddlers is a good thing in the long run. The body learns how to handle being sick and builds proper antibodies to take care of it in the future. I've met very proud parents who boast about their 3-year-old never even having a runny nose. Meh. I was a nanny for 6 years so I have a lot of stored up little tidbits! Hope he is feeling better soon!

ohhh little sick baby...but the staring at the hands activity is actually a good 'developmental' thing.
Next - I think- comes their fascination with gravity. ---i.e- dropping things from their palms and watching them fall.
    Get better soon lovies.

  27. When my son Eric was about the same age Toby is now, he would just look at his hands, too, and moan like he was thinking "What am I supposed to do with these things?" Baby colds are the worst. I remember the first time my daughter threw up (not spit-up), it was so weird. Feel better :-(

  38. What a beautiful picture that is. It is the worst thing in the world to have sick kids and to see them miserable. My little one's have been sick for a month! I don't know if you have one, but a vaporizer or humidifier are amazing to help them sleep when they are stuffy. Good luck and hope you all get better.
