Have a relaxing weekend.

Whew! This has been a terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad week, and I'm so glad it's over. Alex is making a Trader Joe's run (we always get the exact same things: parmesan, arugula, hummus, etc.), then coming home to watch Mad Men. We're like the two people in the world who haven't seen it, so we're starting from season one. It's so good! Why didn't anyone say anything? :) Well, my sweet readers, I'm taking a deep breath, blowing you a kiss and wishing you a wonderful weekend. Here are a few great posts from around the web...

Homemade brownies.

Wow.

Party in a French town.

I learned how to open Champagne!

Portraits of wise old dogs.

A mama must have designed this T-shirt.

Fabulous-beyond-words wedding dress + wedding guests.

A husband's food art for his wife on bed rest.

Zara is growing up!

P.S. And the big giveaway goes until Monday. Have a good one. xoxo

You will love Mad Men! That Don Draper gets me every time. We had a season premiere party this year and everyone dressed up (I borrowed vintage accessories from my grandma!) and drank martinis. It was a blast!

P.S. I hope your week gets better and congrats on learning to open a bottle of Champagne :) Cheers!

You must start from Season 1 and you will adore it! It is so smart, so clever: just like you! (and Alex too, I can only imagine) I don't watch much tele, but Mad Men tops my list...
Eventually, you will be addicted to Sunday evenings at 10pm just like me... :)

We sound SO much alike in this post! My husband and I had a horrible week that involved way too much working. We just came home from Trader Joe's, put the baby to bed, and plan to watch Madmen this eve! hahaha. We only just started watching it a couple of months ago (slowly) and are in the middle of season 2.
Great minds think alike, eh?
Enjoy your evening!

It's so funny you haven't seen Mad Men, because I actually found out about it through your blog, two years ago or so. I think you were asking people to suggest a good show for your sister to watch, and everyone in the comments said Mad Men.

Now it's my absolute favorite show, so thank you!!

yeeaay finaly, mad men! I can't wait to hear what you think about the show! you must also be careful that no one spills any spoilers to you by accident! {i just caught myself from saying something about Don's secretary cause I forgot you were at the beginning of the first season). happy weekend! xx ps. how's toby feeling?

I'm with you on Mad Men! I bought the first two seasons for my 1 year anniversary with my boyfriend - we're starting from the beginning too :)

Giulia said...

Mad Men. Well, lots of us have said:) But I am glad you're starting from beginning. For those who do not have cable, listen up.

I don't have it either, but you can buy a season pass (or one episode at a time) via iTunes (& a few other places). It downloads in your queue after it's shown on the West Coast. This is how friends of mine overseas watch it too. (Unless in the UK, where it's about 4 weeks behind here.)

For those who will be in NYC & see this...my favorite (& the best connected) Mad Men blog is Basket of Kisses. They're having a free finale party in Manhattan. Always be careful about reading it if you've not seen the latest episode. But you can go to the front page & click on Season, then Episode #. If you follow the spoiler alerts (they're good about this), then you can be highly entertained.

The Lipp Sisters who handle the blog have great "gets" - including Matt Weiner, creator of the show. Highly recommend. And I wish I were to be in NYC this weekend; alas, I am stuck in DC.

Hope colds get better at the Goddard-Williams pad. Everyone else, I hope you have a relaxing & peaceful weekend, too.

ciao-meow

We just finished season 3, after an obsessive "let's try to catch up with the rest of the world" Mad-Men-a-thon! That's what we've been doing on our date nights :)

Hummus, arugula and parm from TJ's does not sound random to me at all, they're on my usual rotation, too. Their Tuscan White Bean hummus is so delicious. We buy those olive oil wheat tortillas and make wraps with hummus, arugula and sliced muenster.

Christian Louboutin Lady Peep Red Patent Leather Platform Pumps are expensive, and with reason. The quality of a good pair of leather shoes is such that care was taken in the manufacture to present you, the customer, with the finest footwear your money can buy, though often shoes don't stay as good as new because of owner neglect, and many of the tips below are given for those who care for their Christian Louboutin Rolando 120mm Black Patent Leather Pumps
but that need advice that will make their new appearance last longer, and prolong the life of their shoes, making them even better value for money.

With Christian Louboutin shoes on sale
and boots, there are several choices for new shoes. If the shoes are of colored leather, then you have a choice of buying a color specific polish, or a transparent polish. The advantages and disadvantages are twofold in reality. If you use a clear protection, the shoes retain their original color, though can get scuffed. By using a color specific polish, designer shoes outlet will enable you to hide those scuffs and to keep the leather supple.
