Wading into the ocean

We didn't make it to the beach this summer, so I'm living vicariously through this video of Mav wading into the ocean in Portland, Maine. I can almost feel that icy cold water on my feet and ankles!

I'm so impressed that they managed to not scamper away as I often do when stepping into the ocean.

I took some videos like this, this Summer when we visited the beach. I've been watching them and missing the ocean. I actually had a dream about it, last night. I definitely think a little dip in the ocean is good for the soul.

As a native - and current resident of - Maine, I can completely relate when you say "icy cold"! I can't remember the last time I swam in the ocean here, but I definitely love to admire it from the beach :)

I need something calming today, so this is great!!

p.s. my dad used to take an hour to get into the water too! I miss seeing him complain about the cold.

I love the beach. I was lucky enough to visit the French coast this summer with my parents. I ever had the opportunity to learn to surf! Turns out I'm not very good... haha!
Much love,

The water in Cali was cold this summer. I still went for it in Catalina and screamed so loud the entire crowd on the beach thought someone was dying. For a second, I thought I might:)

Love the tattoos on her feet:)

I was on the mission this summer to go to the beach every weekend because of BP oil spill... The vid looks sooo soothing - it's so interesting every beach has different face to it (the color of the sand, the waves, reef, etc)..

I'm sure it'll be fun experience for Toby next summer to dip his feet in the water, or you don't have to wait if you go to Hawaii!!

This video is amazing. I honestly forgot where I was for a second...

Portland is also one of my favorite spots in the USA. Such a great town with so much character and wonderful people.

I love them, too. Thanks for spreading the word.

I had seen this on 3191 but thank you for the reminder as it is wet and rainy here today. Stephanie's that was orginally paired with it of the bike ride is also relaxing, and a bit vintage in feel.

This is so lovely, I grew up in Maine very close to Portland and every summer we had to contend with the freezing cold water! Once you get in it's wonderful though. This video reminds me why I yearn for home so badly!

Jo, I love 3191 too. I always wonder if I'm seeing the Portland, Oregon writing half infront of me at the grocery store.
