A few years ago, my dad took my sister and me on a fall weekend trip to Bar Harbor, Maine. We stayed in a charming old B&B and made it our goal to eat lobster for every single meal, including lobster scrambled eggs, bisque, rolls, whole lobsters, and even a McDonald's McLobster...
Even though it rained almost the whole time, the trip was one of the best I've ever taken.
So I was psyched to discover this Maine perfume. Wouldn't you love to smell its sea, air, sun, pine and grassy scent?(Photos by 3191 Miles Apart and Between the Bread)

As long as it doesn't smell like lobster! hehe
ReplyDeleteI love all things sea...and seafood...so this is perfect!!! This way we can keep the smell of summer all year around..I have to check this one out:) Yay!! I am so excited:)

ReplyDeleteInteresting...I wonder what the scent of California would smell like lol.
ReplyDeleteWow! I was in Maine last weekend for a wedding and the idea of bottling it into a perfume is quite dreamy. Mount Desert Island is one of the most beautiful places on this Earth and I'm happy to hear Bar Harbor warmed your heart the way the whole state continues to warmed mine. Thanks for sharing, xo
ReplyDeleteMaine is seriously one of my favorite places on earth - I can still picture the benches near my favorite lobster shack, overlooking the water. Also, I must try their Maui perfume - I love the description!
ReplyDeleteBecca
why not, it must be great with all of that combined. There's the Paris perfume right ? (even thou' I have to say that Paris doesn't really smells like roses :) :) ).
ReplyDeleteThat would be nice...Maine is just a lovely vacation spot...I heart lobster rolls!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. You know, I think someone should make a New York perfume. We can fill it with smog, falafel, soft pretzels, and subway steam! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try this yes- I'm going to look it up properly.
ReplyDeleteAnd really is there a McLobster? even the Macs are better there!
How fun! I'm a Mainer and didn't know about this. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteohhh, i need to get my hands on this! i love maine -- and bar harbor. as a east coaster, i love all that maine has to offer, including that romantic ocean breeze and scent. xo
ReplyDeletenorth atlantic by cb I Hate Perfume smells just like the ocean. i love the idea of perfumes that recall places.

ReplyDeleteI bet that smells delicious! How much was it? I might hunt some down. Maine is, with out a doubt, my favorite state.
ReplyDeleteMaine-scented perfume? Yes, please!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to take a trip to maine!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis blog is obsessed with Maine! As a Mainer, I wish you would write about more than Maine's oceans and lobster. I live in the mountains and it's sad that flat-landers (he-he) don't know more about the beauty of Maine besides the ocean.
ReplyDeleteI've never been there but know I would love it! I'm going to try and find this perfume! Thanks:)
ReplyDeleteOMG that lobster roll looks GOOD!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! and its inspired by my island! north haven! what a dream find!
ReplyDeleteI think Lobster cures all. :) All that is missing a lobster eating contest.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I honeymooned in the northeast (Maine, Nova Scotia). We spent two blissful days/nights in Bar Harbor. Thanks for igniting the memories.
ReplyDeleteI know some people who would love me forever if I got this for them :)
ReplyDeletealso, now I REALLY want a lobster roll! too bad I'm living in a land-locked country...
What a great idea...wish they could bottle the smell of college football! Whenever Fall comes, I swear I can smell Game Day:)
ReplyDeleteThat would have to be a "smell First" kind of thing! ^)^ Sometimes the sea can smell NOT so nice!...I like the idea of "fresh" though!!
ReplyDeletei have ALWAYS wanted to go to maine. its been on my radar since i was little. i'm so not a west coaster.
ReplyDeletemaybe me and my man can settle there.
although he really wants to settle in europe.
not so bad either :)
Sounds amazing. I will have to check it out!
ReplyDeletemclobster?? that is unreal!!
ReplyDeleteA McLobster? Yes please!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to travel to Maine. One day!
I've never been to the east coast. Looks like I know where to go if I ever to though! :P
ReplyDeleteLOVE Maine! Went on so many vacations there growing up because it's the state neighbouring the (Canadian) province where I grew up, New Brunswick. Bar Harbor is totally charming.
ReplyDeleteI'd be curious about the perfume!
McLobster! hahaha and I've never heard of lobster scrambled eggs!
ReplyDeleteMiss Maine summers....my grandmother lived there.....smiles.
ReplyDeleteAll I have to do to smell the piney air is open a window! Lobster roll is just a 10-min. walk away. Don't hate me 'cause I live in Maine!
ReplyDeleteWe went to Bar Harbor this summer and it was a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteI'm hungry for lobster now.
I love the perfume idea of Maine, but for $110, I think I'll just rub some blueberries and pine on my wrists.
ReplyDeleteI have been searching for something exactly like this. I am from the coast of Maine, and really there is nothing like that fresh sea smell. As well, my mom and dad live just a boat ride from the perfume's island inspiration (North Haven). Yea Maine!

i just spent the weekend in maine, hiking, eating lobster, and falling in love. i can't wait to try out this sweet scent. thanks jo! xo, h
ReplyDeletei love that you love maine so much! our family has a cabin in boothbay harbor. it's absolute bliss!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a relaxing good time, I've always wanted to drive up the New England coast to Maine in fall.
ReplyDeletei think maine looks so lovely. i have been trying to convince my boyfriend to take a trip there with me some day but he is convinced that it is just freezing cold and nasty all the time.
ReplyDeleteI named my son Harbor after Bar Harbor Maine so I'll take it as a sign I should by the perfume. Of course it will have to be rotated with In the Library perfume since I'm also a book loving librarian.
ReplyDeleteBar Harbor is hands down one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. I have family that lives downtown and my Mom lived there this entire summer so I was lucky enough to visit twice. You have to go back for sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds amazing! Being landlocked since moving to Europe has been painful (I hail from coastal CA) - this would be the perfect thing to remind me of the sea. Thanks for the great find!
ReplyDeleteI kept on looking at the picture with the lobster and dreaming about it.
ReplyDeleteI want to go too!
C.
yumm I want to cook that right now!!!
