My jaw dropped when I saw this French bride Fanny's lace veil. She looks so old-fashioned and romantic, and I love how it's wrapped under her hair. Would you go for a wedding veil?P.S. Four more wedding veils: Vintage, birdcage, kissable and poofy.

That is magical...She looks so charming with it and the braids...awww:) I so love that look:)Such a sweet couple...Can you image a whole ceremony in French? Must sound so cool...right?

ps: I am hosting a really cute GIVEAWAY, so please join in:)
I love the tradition of a bridal veil. The picture of the romantic wedding veil is beautiful! Very ethereal.
ReplyDeleteStunning!! I think veils mean more when it is either a tradition or if it has been part of the family. I love the veil gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I will have many choices when my day comes...hopefully soon!
ReplyDeleteps..I have just completed a children's book...I'll be sure to get you a copy when it's completed:)

Oh my goodness it is so gorgeous! It's stunningly beautiful and graceful....
ReplyDeleteBtw: I just looked at her dress on OnceWed..I so would wear it. The back side is my favourite...and the veil is so long...Stunning!
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous, simple, elegant! I love traditional veils, but there's something about this one!
ReplyDeleteI love that. It's so beautiful and romantic with her braids!
ReplyDeleteyes, a ceremony all in french must sound so beautiful and lyrical. :)
ReplyDeleteooh, this is gorgeous. I want to wear one when I get married :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! The wedding dress is also so girly and romantic!

I LOVE wedding veils--the look, the tradition, the romance.
ReplyDeleteGORGE. One of my biggest mistakes was not wearing a veil at my wedding.
ReplyDeleteps. the groom is cute, too! :)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and delicate looking wish we could wear this everyday in fashion its simply gorgeous

wow, that's really different. so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteoh wow, gorgeous veil. i got engaged a month ago - but am now starting to wedding plan, so i'm adding things to my wedding list of inspiration. this is so simple yet beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've always dreamed of a veil like this one, especially after watching "Manon des Sources" when I was 15. In the 6 years since then I haven't wavered, so I'm pretty sure that whenever I do get married, I will be wearing a veil like this :)
ReplyDeleteAlso-Thank you for putting this up! Now I can show people what I mean other than saying "go rent a VHS(!) of this weird French movie, fast-forward to the end, and tell me what you think" :) haha.
Joanna, thank you for my daily dose of gorgeousness. Your blog is the BEST!
ReplyDeleteI didn't wear a veil at my wedding, because there was a lot of beading on the back of my dress and I didn't want to cover it up! But I think the veil/no veil thing really depends on the dress. I think the veil works with this bride's dress though!
ReplyDeleteI love her braids! Gosh what I would give to figure out how to do that to my hair!
ReplyDeleteBecca
Ughh...it bugs me that you can't see her face fully in any of the photos! But you're right, that veil is magical :)
ReplyDeleteoh, so gorgeous and romantic! makes me want to do it all over again with my current perspective. (to the same wonderful hubby of course!)
ReplyDeleteThat is just so pretty and romantic!!
ReplyDeleteI had a dress with quite a long train and then my veil covered the whole train...I'd always dreamed of that :)
Oh I actually HAD exactly the same veil, only that I didn't wrap it :). here's a link where you can see it http://www.creamylife.com/occasions-and-holidays/7477/our-magical-wedding.html
ReplyDeletesooo incredible. absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and Romantic, I love the look of the braids under the lace.
ReplyDeleteI was adamantly against a veil... until I tried one on with my dress and I fell in love. When the veil is the focal point it adds so much beauty and attention to the face. Love this one.
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS STUNNNNING.
ReplyDeleteLOVE. so romantic and magical!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of mantilla veils. Perfectly romanticand feminine :)
Very beautiful! I don't think that would be a good look for me on my wedding day, though. :)
ReplyDeleteBeauuuutifuuul.
ReplyDeleteI love the bridal veil!!!
ReplyDeletexxx
OMG, this is so beautiful. So French! xx
ReplyDeleteI wore a chapel-length veil with little pearls on it that perfectly matched my dress. The dress was all tulle on the bottom, and my train and the veil kind of blended into each other, it looked cool. Although, wearing so much fabric at an outdoor wedding was a little tricky. Our photog got some great pics of my husband picking little twigs off my dress/veil. I also wore it under my bun/hair, instead of on top. I really love how it all worked together.
ReplyDeletewow its stunning! i think classic is the way to go
ReplyDeleteAhh! I loved this veil too!! The bride's whole look is stunning and unique. Not to mention she's GORGEOUS.
ReplyDeletegorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely would wear a veil...and did wear one 28 years ago. Mine was sort of like the "Kissable" one you linked to. I still love it!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love it, would definitely wear it.
ReplyDeleteOMG, my jaw dropped too! So beautiful!! I love how old-fashioned and simple it looks.

I definitely want a veil. I am not even engaged, but I dream of my wedding almost daily. (Comes with the territory of being a girl, right?)
ReplyDeleteWhy do French people have to be so beautiful?! Her veil is beyond breathtaking, the groom is a stud, and I'm sure the rest of the ceremony was whimsical.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have a wedding veil, but this looks so pretty and romantic.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely go for a veil if it looks like this. Otherwise a definite no!
ReplyDeleteI saw that on OnceWed and i thought it had the potential to be super pretty but ended up looking more like a hair net :( The way its tied around her head isn't the most flattering, imo. I also wished there had been at least one good close up of her from the front, so we could at least see what that looks like from the other side. however i LOVE wedding veils and wore one myself in my wedding 3 months ago.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful but how did it stay up? My hair is so stubborn that it would have taken too many pins to keep it up. I'll admire it from afar.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous. I wanted a very specific wedding veil but then we couldn't find it and I ended up with one I hated. I'm still lamenting it.
ReplyDeleteI love that...looks so classy! xoxo
ReplyDeletenot loving it, she looks like she's going to clean something.
ReplyDeleteThat is ridiculously glamorous. WOW!
ReplyDeletehow very beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteBEYOND! loves!!
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting. Never seen something like this before!
ReplyDeleteOh she looks gorgeous and I love the veil
ReplyDeletei know- i saw this and loved it. i decided not to wear a veil during the ceremony but wore one for some of the pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice, a bit different and not so fluffy. I think it depends on your hair and face, can look fab but it can also be a bit too much. Nce to see something different though!
ReplyDeleteOoh, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteoh wow, i am sooo ready for fall. primarily for the clothes, but pumpkin-flavored things doesn't hurt either.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. It looks amazing with her hair!
ReplyDeleteits just so different - i love it! her dress looks beautiful too...
ReplyDeletethis is really strikingly beautiful. I love the knot!!
ReplyDeletethat is so. freaking. amazing! what a gorgeous idea! love it!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!
ReplyDeletehow do you always find the most amazing things?!
i have never seen anything like this before, it is sooooo lovely
ReplyDeletewhen I saw this on Once Wed, I got goosebumps too. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh my god it's my friend Fanny !!!! It's a small small world
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! There's something so nostalgic and perfect about vintage-inspired gowns/veils. Anyway, I'm so happy to have stumbled upon your amazing blog. Off to go read some more now! xx, Paris in Pink
ReplyDeleteI gasped out loud a this spellbinding vision!
ReplyDeleteI think that's amazing... so going to do that now... yes!
ReplyDeleteMost definitely ~ I'd have worn it at my wedding! It's so romantic and gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteIt's not only her veil that is so beautiful. Her wedding dress is gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteIt looked like a very beautiful union.
With my own wedding ceremony, very private, coming up, these photographs make me even more excited. Have a lovely day ~ xox Alexandra
ReplyDeleteI love this veil! It's so chic and classic with a little twist! I love that it's tied under her hair... so beautiful. I kind of just want one for myself.. just to have!
ReplyDeleteoh my, this is so beautiful.
ReplyDeletehave a beautiful sunday evening ladies :]

so unusual, and BEAUTIFUL
ReplyDeleteWow, I love her look and all the other pictures from the links. How amazing would it have been to get married in France!
ReplyDeletethat's the most romantic veil I've ever seen!
ReplyDeletethis is just darling and and oh so romantic!
ReplyDeleteI found this ridiculously disturbing. If you jump to the link there are many photos of the wedding, and never one shot of the woman's face, but you do see the groom. A veil indeed in the most conservative and objectifying sense.
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm the lucky photographer who has photographed this wedding which was truly beautiful. Thank you all for your sweet comments! Regarding the lack of pictures of the bride's face, here's the reason why: the bride herself decided she doesn't want to have her face posted on all the internet, and I respect her choice. Please, respect her choice too. Thanks very much for the featuring, Joanna! You've totally made my day!
