Legging jeans = a little dance

My friend from Glamour says that you should only buy things that "make you want to do a little dance." Isn't that genius? This year, that single phrase has made me way pickier (in a good way) and kept me from buying those ho-hum pieces that just end up sitting in my closet. Well, I've been searching for a new pair of jeans, and these adorable Gap legging jeans (worn here by the adorable Annabel) make me want to get down. :)

P.S. Annabel also makes clogs look cool.

  1. What a great phrase!! Makes me want to dance right now!

  2. I like to take the same tact when cleaning out my closet - I should only have clothes that I'm EXCITED to wear! Also, Annabel has totally convinced me that jeggings can work!

  8. I can totally relate to that statement...whenever I try on clothes I dance in the dressing room. I'm glad I'm not the only one =) And, yes, those leggings jeans looks so fun!

  9. Ooh, I would definitely dance in these - maybe I'll get some when I go shopping this afternoon.

  10. I have several pairs of jean leggings (jeggings, as they are stupidly called) and I. AM. OBSESSED. Love them, you must try them! I havent tried on Gap's yet, but all of mine are from Abercrombie (weird, I know, but I saw them there first and I got hooked) so now I must try Gap's. I like the little jig idea =o)

  11. i definitely follow that advice :)

  13. I went on a search for "jeggings" a couple weeks ago and left empty handed! I tried these on, but they were so long on me. American Eagle actually has quite a few cute, inexpensive pairs. But even the petite/short ones there still bunched around my ankles. I guess I'll keep searching!

  14. A great motto to shop by! If I looked as adorable as Annabel in jeggings, I would dance!

  16. That is such a great rule!! I heard over on Dancing Branflakes that her rule for buying clothes is: would you wear this on a fabulous trip to Italy or Paris or another fashionable capital of the world? Because your clothes should make you want to dress up to travel!
I have to remember these rules next time I go shopping for clothes :)

  17. Such great advice. I just bought a pair from American Eagle of all places. It's been an eternity since I have bought jeans there, but I took the plunge. They were on sale for $25 and they were a nice dark wash like those jeggings with gold stitching. I can't wait to roll them up.

  18. Jean leggings! I need these! I'm doing the happy dance, and dedicating it to my pilates instructor, who gave my skinny stick legs enough muscley shape to pull off wearing leggings in public. Hooray!

Love the outfit, the top included! I'm all about the loose but not huge nautical stripe. Anyone know the label?

  22. I'm wearing my Gap leggings right now--they're the best! So comfy, they don't ride down (which is problem for me with lots of pants) and they don't sag within minutes of wearing. I'm telling you--get them!

    ReplyDelete
  23. aura, you could always get them hemmed? (often, dry cleaner will do basic tailoring, or you could ask if the Gap etc does alterations?) xo

  43. She looks very cute & it's an excellent "rule." My cranky old lady rule is (about St. James shirts, which I wear summer & winter, different weights): buy them online from Brittany (Bretagne), please peeps. Less than half what they cost in boutiques & don't get me started on what they charge at J.Crew for them.

OK. Back to yer stripes & jean-leggings, gang.

    ciao

  47. I got a pair from Target and was pleased except they're still very much jeans as opposed to leggings/jeggings. I'll consider giving the GAP a try.

  48. She's adorable!
Yep, I'll chime in with my Gap jean leggings love too! I wear them just about every day. It's a bit ridiculous. Haha. They're exactly what I was looking for.
I think they fit/feel more like a really skinny jean, and less like a legging; thick enough to not show every detail, but tight with some stretch.
I can't wait till cooler weather gets here and I can wear them with boots!

    ReplyDelete
  49. that's good advice - as I do my ritual summer 'go through every room in the house and get rid of everything we don't need/use' I will keep them in mind as inevitable start filling back up with things again

  50. LOFT has them as well. I just bought some and am so excited! They are super tight though so you may need to start with a size or two up and work your way down for a perfect fit.

  55. in the philippines, brands have unfortunately called legging jeans *cringe* jeggings. this keeps me from buying said product, no matter how fashionable they seem. boo marketing, and boo me for not being able to live through that. but yes, annabel looks cute here. :)
