Short wedding dress

This bride just got hitched in London, and she looks so adorable and 1920's in her short dress and Chanel heels! Would you wear a short wedding dress? I love them.

ps. these photos also make me want to chop off all my hair :)
she happily reminds me of a gatsby-esque beauty. and for a girl who loves all things deco, this is wonderful!

I think she look stunning. Almost like 1920's flapper style! I like it alot because she looks beautiful!!!
she TOTALLY looks gatsby! good call!
ps - joanna, i have been having the same short hair dilemma! i am *this close* to taking the plunge post wedding :) you should too...i think you would look lovely!

Her whole look is amazing! And I love love love her hair (: I think that I would wear a short wedding dress (:
I love that dress - the 1920s offered such great fashion inspiration. Perhaps for a second wedding (not that I'm going to have one), I would do a shorter dress.
I totally would wear a short dress...This one looks so comfy and glam:)
The shoes add so much to the whole look too...Dont you think?
Kisses,sweetie
@Joanna- do it! You would look so cute! I am still hoping for the bangs.
syl, you should totally do it! i look terrible in short hair, though...anything above my shoulders is a disaster.
I really wanted to wear a short dress but decided not to as I got married in December.
Funny that you want to cut your hair off..my sister's boyfriend claims all women do after having a baby and I have thought about it but think I would miss my hair. betsy
yes, why yes I would! love the dreamy, drapey fabric--totally gives her an ethereal quality & complements the bold Chanel shoes beautifully. *die*
Swoon!!
if my short dress was like her dress? yes in a heart beat!
I would, but I didn't ha. Just got married a month ago and couldn't resist the full length gown! but when we were all hot and sweaty dancing, man did I wish I had a short dress. I loved mine tho, wouldn't change it for the world. her hair makes me want to chop all mine off too, Joanna :)
I wore a short wedding dress and I'd do it all over again. It was so much easier to move it, to have fun in and it made me less nervous.
She looks adorable!
I like the heels, their similar to this Chanel pair I fell for a couple years back but which I can't seem to find now. I don't know if I'd do a short wedding dress. Maybe for the reception and dancing I would. But for the ceremony itself I'd like a gown. :D
i think i would. and considering i am getting married in jamaica i probably should have... i love my dress though

Love it! But best short wedding dress was my own ;-).
Wow very nice!
She looks adorable! Everything about her look is stunning! Yes, i would wear a short wedding dress.
beautiful, very retro, different and stylish. love it!
Makes me want to get married all over again. Sort of.
And she could actually wear it again--or at least the shoes. (Pretty cute the way she's showing them off to him.) Which reminds me, the jazz fest is happening again this weekend.
Adore!!! Mine was very long, but I love this look so very mcu. Gorgeous photo of the two of them So natural and radiating happiness.
These pictures are beautiful - they make me think of the Great Gatsby and the chic insouciance of Garconnes.
I am just beginning to plan my own wedding and lean towards a very contemporary, short(er) dress.
Though, of course, all bets may be off when I try on my first long, fairytale gown... :0)

absolutely would wear a short dress wedding dress!
so cute- i don't think i'd go short but i love it when other people do.
I couldn't do it, but I admire those who do!
She is totally precious and lovely in than vintage-inspired wedding dress. I might feel too exposed, though for such a big day ; ).
she is so stinkin' cute! makes me want to redo my wedding... on second thought...
Love her 1920's flapper outfit!!! Her hair is perfect too! Gotta love Chanel shoes---stunnning! We love your blog!!!

adorable and stylish little bride. i think short dresses are extremely chic, i remember trying on a few but nothing that capture my heart at the time. Any chance you know who the designer is of that short sweet dress?
I did, & I hope to again. Wonderful shot.
So cute!! Maybe I'd go short...but I'd definitely go for the Chanel heels :)
Too cute for words! I am in love with the heels too - almost menswear to me!
I've done both long and short hair (I might be my hairdresser's nightmare or favorite client) I love the ease of short hair, and that it allows one to play up her hair's texture (just like the bride did with her curls), although in the recent heat on the east coast, can't imagine doing anything but wearing a ponytail!
@ Joanna - I vote do it :) Worst case scenario, it'll grow out!

I totally intend on buying a short dress for my wedding. This dress is so cute!
I'm a little old to worry about getting married, but if I somehow did, I would wear a short dress, and it would be pale gold or silver, not white. Maybe one of these.
I have been putting my religious wedding ceremony off for a year now (my husband and I are married by civil law only). In my country, Venezuela, people have separate ceremonies, the law requires the civil ceremony to be first and then the religious one comes by choice. The thing is, I already bought a gorgeous long gown, I saw it and fell in love with it immediately. But during the past six months awful things have happened to us both, we both got dengue fever and malaria, both illness at the same time, then I got a infection in the liver because of the Malaria, and a little over a month ago a drunken driver almost killing us on the road. After this, my life changed completely, I can't not longer walk like I used to, I am dealing with lost of memory issues... Somehow, I feel like I can't not longer control my body, my legs are weak, my head is heavy... So suddenly I started to change the outside, I wanted to feel comfortable, free and not attached to the beauty image the average consider one should portrait. In a country were short hair in a woman is seen as a weird thing I cut my waist-long hair and got a pixie (which I LOVE by the way!), and from then my style in general changed dramatically... So now, that beautiful gown I bought doesn't really suit me anymore. I have been flirting with the idea of wearing a short dress instead of long one. Somehow, that style suits me better now, it's so daring and "rock and roll babe", besides, it's soooooooo sexy!!!! I am definitely going for it...!!!!!!
Love her hair, but not the dress. It wasn't my wedding though! So who cares about my opinon, as long as she was happy. From the photos it looks like she was beyond!
Amanda
Yes I did!
Lovely...
I wouldn't wear a short dress, but do have a more simple beachy dress in mind. I have seen a couple short wedding dresses online lately and they always seem to capture the personality of the bride perfectly!
I absolutely adore short wedding dresses and they seem to be getting all the oohs and ahhs these days. however if I got married all over again I would still go for the big dress - its your one excuse to be a totally over the top girly girl.
This is pretty cute. If I was to get married, I think I would do something fun like this.
gah! I won't make it through the summer without chopping off my hair!
It's so hard to remember that not all good haircuts look good on all people, isn't it?
gorgeous dress, gorgeous haircut.
My plan is already to have a very 60's, mod mini dress for my wedding. My mom's going to make it for me.
she's adorable...and pulls that look off so well!
i looked at short wedding dresses for my outdoor vineyard wedding but just didn't find anything i liked. if you have the dress you love, who cares what length it is!
ps i'm also thinking of chopping off all my hair...but i'm a little too nervous to take the plunge just yet!
Not only is the dress appropriate for the bride, but it's also practical. She can wear this whole outfit again.
The bride's outfit is so cute! I didn't do the short dress thing for my own wedding (it was a big wedding, more on the formal side, so a short dress wouldn't have looked right), but she looks amazing!
Perfect shoes to go with the short dress. Definitely contemplating going short for mine someday<3
short wedding dress = done. 3 years ago next week.
she's beautiful! the shoes are perfect!
goooooorgeous! i would absolutely consider it (actually, i would absolutely consider wearing that dress any time).
Oh goodness..how beautiful! She is adorable. I love the 20's style of the dress.
I normally always think that I wouldn't want a short wedding dress but if it was something so lovely I might consider it.
Love,
Rachel xoxo
Awesome dress! I wore a 20's style dress as well. Slideshow at the bottom of my blog.
1. i LOVE
2. this makes me want short hair
3. i love short dresses!
4. those heels rock.
Sooo 1920s and 30s chic... I love it! She's rocking those heels and that dress. I'd definitely wear something like this to stand out in a good way for my big day. And her hair... you go girl!!
For someone who is a self-confessed shoe addict, I will always regret not wearing a colorful statement heel on my own wedding day. Her shoes are heavenly!

I definitely am considering a short dress... more 1950s style though. She looks lovely and I love her hair!
I love them too! And this one may just be my dream dress.
absolutely stunning! i can only dream of a wedding dress that beautiful!
Definitely with those heels! Gorgeous!
I'm wearing a short dress in just 16 days!!!
Glad you're back!
xoxo
The dress is great and she can really pull it off. You can always go for the short hair, eventually it grows back again if hate it! I've had really bad experiences with short hair, so I'm not sure i'll try that again so soon!
how fun! i love the '20s look!!
She looks so lovely and classy! I adore the dress and shoes!!
I love the short dress and think the whole outfit is beautiful. She looks wonderful and I would most definitely do it up like this if I was able to carry it off like she is!
-Carrie
I wore a dress that was a little below the knee! It was a hot summer day and I wanted to be pretty, but also comfortable!
Helle and Hurrah from another short dress bride.
I wish I wore a short dress! I love them! So adorable, and those shoes!!!

She looks so cute! Makes me want wear a short wedding dress.
I'll give a big fat YES to that! I don't think I've ever worn a long dress in my life. It's just not me. So why would I start at my wedding. Short dress all the way!
p.s. charly- you should consider cutting your long dress short! I've have friends who have done that or done it to their mothers wedding dresses and I think it looks beautiful!
I've been thinking for awhile that I'll definitely wear a short wedding dress. It opens the options to dresses from regular boutiques, etc., plus it fits my personality better!
I would only wear a short dress, can't see myself in a long dress, no matter the occasion...
I think she looks adorable! Short dresses all the way for me... and love her hair even if I am currently trying to grow mine in!
I would definitely consider wearing a short wedding dress. I think the location of my wedding would have to be considered, of course.
pale bluebird
love it :)
Oh so cute!
oh wow. well that's sumn. i think it's cute :)
Yes! I'm wearing a short dress in my wedding in 6 short weeks!!!
yup, i wore a short (ish) dress from j.crew when we got married in waikiki. and her hair is adorable.
Absolutely! I won't wear a long one because I'm only 5'5" and it will make me look so small. I want to show off my legs on my wedding day! (even before the wedding night ;) ! )
She looks amazing, I love her dress/hair/everything! So pretty and unique! I would definitely consider a short wedding dress!
I'd ONLY wear a short wedding dress. Love the whole look, thanks for sharing - great inspiration.
she looks amazing!
Yes, she's beautiful! I had a short dress at my wedding and I LOVED it! I think there is some pics on my blog if anyone wants a peek:)
My friend Emily got married in a tea-length dress with blue heels. I loved it!
PS: Can't wait to hear your birth story. Assuming it involves a TV network interview and cameras? Please say it does! xo
beautiful! i wore a shortish 1950s floral wedding dress!
Isn't that Krissi Murison, who edits NME? Fab outfit, and it looks like such a relaxed, happy day. Lovely!
What a beauty! That haircut is seriously cute, too.
I love this look. I'm recently engaged and have been pondering what sort of dress I will wear. This is my second wedding so I'm thinking a not so traditional princess-type dress would be perfect. I'd definitely wear a short dress :)
I'm so set for a short wedding dress! I'm short and never find long dresses to be flattering on me. Plus, they feel like so much more fun to me.
yes, yes, yes!!! x
ps. the dress is from Morgan Le Fay -- so pretty! xoxo
i wore a short wedding dress and never looked back after i found it. it was very me and very comfortable!
Yes,I find a short wedding dress with a long time
Thank you for sharing a nice article.

I actually wore a short wedding dress:) and I didn´t regret for a second! Felt so comfortable and natural
honestly i am tired of watching bride wearing long gowns. having short wedding dress is something new to me and I think this will be a great hit in my place. now my problem is people invited during the wedding, will a corporate clothing be a good choice or shall I let them wear tuxedos... hmmmm
I had a short wedding dress full of feathers!!! I think hers is beautiful! x
