Confession: I'm embarrassingly addicted to The Bachelorette. (I know.) Have you guys been watching it? The reality show, where one woman tries to find love among 25 guys, is sooo compelling. On my Glamour blog, I used to do "live commenting" during the finale episode, so everyone could chat about it as it aired. Would you guys ever want to do that here on Cup of Jo? The finale is in two weeks (Monday, August 2nd)!P.S. Which guy would you pick?

Oh my goodness. I have never been into reality shows and watch them very little. But this summer, I went down to visit my dad and stepmom, and my stepmom is obsessed too! now she has me completely hooked (at least for the rest of this set of people... You're not alone. Haha

WTF, Frank?! PLEASE take Frank's photo down. I'm *so* disappointed in him. My theory: He was scared Ali wouldn't choose him (in the end), so he dumped her before she could dump him, and he went back to his sure thing at home. Pretty pathetic.

Yesterday was the first episode I watched of this season. I got out of the habit of watching with the Jake season, because I hated him on The Bachelorette and managed to resist Ali until now. Not sure what to make of all the dramarama last night, especially because I don't know much about the players.

I find the whole Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise creepy. I know it's American to date various people at the same time, but in New Zealand that seems weird and I think it's really sad to see people have their hearts broken on national (international) television. I don't empathize with Ali at all though because she keeps talking about love, connection and relationships with several guys at once. Too contrived and not deep. The type of people who sign up for those shows are there for the fame. Gorgeous people like that don't need any help finding a mate in real life.

I think Ali clicked with Frank because he was more of an urban, metro sexual type. She may find Roberto 'hot' in his baseball uniform but insurance agent?!! BORING. Chris is sweet, casual, what you see is what you get kind of guy and totally not urbane at all and I think Ali wants the excitement that a cosmopolitan environment offers. I know everyone hates Frank but I think he was 'the one' in spite of what he did and I don't see her with either of the other two but I definitely like Chris. A great catch for the right gal.

Me too! I'd never watched it before, but I started this time & I'm so ridiculously hooked. (And, it's baaaaad. I live in Holland right now, so I actually put EFFORT into finding & watching it! haha) My BFF & I email back and forth about every episode.

Oh I can't help myself from watching. I vowed to not watch this season but here I am. This season has been good. I like both Chris and Roberto but my lean for Chris.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I too am a bachelor/bachelorette junkie! I love Roberto but really leaning toward Chris because he seems to be so genuine and has a good family! I love his sneakers too!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how Ali is allowed to be in love with several men, but god forbid Frank's feelings for an ex resurface as he dates the bachelorette. (And I've never been much of a Frank fan - Chris L all the way!) Frank handled a tough situation much better than "Rated R" did...especially because I am SURE the producers manipulated it so that Frank would have to break Ali's heart in a tropical paradise once she was really invested in him.

I actually know how it all ends bc I read the spoiler on Reality Steve, but I wont spoil it for anyone!!

i absolutely love-to-hate the bachelorette!! it's the best train wreck on tv and i can't get enough! i am a fan of roberto, but i like cape cod chris too. i'm just glad frank left.

I think she was going to pick Frank and now she's pissed because he ditched. Her explanation to why he left, what was that? "He had some issues at home and he left to go do that" What does that even mean?? He could've had a drug problem for all they know.
ReplyDeleteI think Chris is a wonderful guy who really truly likes her but I feel that his primary goal is to "find a wife" and to have her "fit in with his family" which are all great things, but it seems that he wants WIFE above woman he loves and loves him back. And he also never mentions starting a family with her or more - fitting in with HER family. He keeps saying how he wants to be like his brothers who have found love and I feel like he wants to 'catch up to everyone else' more than anything else. So I don't know... Whereas Roberto is sort of boring and sweats a ton (couldn't he have changed his shirt before his date?!) but he seems more focused on Ali for who Ali is. That's just my impression.
I think she'd be happy with either, but I'm sure she was going to choose Frank!!

Chris seems right for her. I love how he was talking about thier future together as if it was already a foregone conclusion. "When we are together, I will live anywhere for you... but we'll have to go back to Cape Cod 4 times a year!"
I love Chris L! Kirk was my favorite - a pocket size, gorgeous fiance! Too bad Frank went back to his ex, they seemed to really work together.

I can't get enough of this show!! It's hard to choose between Alberto and Chris, but I have to say, if she is looking for a husband, she ought to pick Chris- he seems like the sweet, family guy who's ready to be a father and a husband... BUT, if she wants to be young and party still, go for sexy Alberto!

So I think she has a stronger connection with Roberto, but it's all lust. Short-lived. I love Chris L, but my guess is that maybe neither are truly right for her. I'm not sold on the fact that just because you do this show, 1 out of 25 men in the room is your soul mate!
