Guest Post: Backless Dresses

I love open back dresses, especially this dress from Eskell's spring collection. Open back dresses are so sexy and perfect for spring/summer nights.

Bottom three from Frances May.

What do people think about backless wedding dresses? I'm getting married and fell in love with one at a bridal salon (no pictures/links to post, I'm afraid).

It's a Catholic wedding. I would wear a veil that technically covers the back (but it would still be visible). The front of the dress is modest enough (no boob spillage), and there is a spaghetti strap on the left shoulder that has a big flower on it. The back dips down into a V, so despite the sheer veil, my back would still be pretty exposed.

Is it too scandalous for a church wedding?

    Eep!

  16. oooh gorgeous style!

(Dotty...I don't think an open back is too scandoulous for the church! I imagine you'll be dressed very tastefully so an open back will probably just look elegant! Go for it!)

  43. The "stick-on" bras you can buy at Macy's or Target work really well. You basically stick on each side and then it hooks in the middle (for more or less cleavage). I don't even own a regular strapless anymore!

  44. I agree! They are so effortlessly sexy too. Even if the front is modest, the back gives a little hint of flesh without being too over the top. People should show off their backs more than their fronts sometimes :)

  53. Oh how funny! I was just having a discussion on twitter yesterday about backless vs. strapless. I - for the life of me - have never found a really reliable bra situation for the backless wonders that abound. My "girls" are best suited for strapless. All of this is fine for me as I adore strapless dresses, tops etc.

But those backless beauties above are super fun!
