Have you guys been watching the new Bravo show 9 By Design? It's all about Cortney and Robert Novogratz, who buy, renovate and decorate fabulously artsy houses (and then sell them for top dollar). The twist? They have seven kids. The family is funny, boisterous and totally charming, and the show is really addictive. (It's on tonight at 10pm if you want to watch.)
P.S. Their baby's name is Major. Adorable.

This show sounds right up my alley! It is times like these that I lament being cable-less.
sadly, you can't watch it on hulu (as far as i can tell) -- i'll let you know if i figure out another way to see it!
Oh I saw these guys in Living Etc magazine a while ago, and then heard about the show through a blog. It's times like these when I wish I lived in the US so I could watch it! I tried Youtubing it but I can't find anything :( Any ideas where I could watch it?

i am OBSESSED. i love that show & i love them. they are pretty much amazing. the funniest thing is that when i first watched it i was like Oh my gosh, joanna would totally love this!! < yep, i think of blog friends as much as my "real life" friends. lol. im a dork.

Love this show - have to make sure my husband isn't around when it's on, though. He thinks WE should have 7 kids. I gave him the first two, he'll have to wait for his next wife for five more.
This is exactly the reason why I am so sad I don't have cable anymore. Sad hat. They look so cool and exactly the kind of cool parents I want to be.
SO into this show. i stumbled on the first episode on accident, had no idea what was going on and was almost instantly hooked. love!

I read a story about them as well, but didn't know they had a show! I am going to DVR it tonight as LOST is currently taking priority in our household...only 3 episodes left! Can't wait to watch this one...:)

Yes-- I adore this show, LOVE their design aesthetic and delight in their family antics. How cute are all their kids' names? I especially love the names Tallulah and Bellamy. At first my hubs and I were like, they named their little boy Wolfie? and then we realized it's short for "Wolfgang" and we were like, "ohhhh! In that case, we're in."
Hopefully it will come to Australia very soon! It looks fabulous. Mind you, I always feel so jealous when watching home reno shows. One day I WILL have my own house to renovate!

I have their book - its packed with such fantastic homes and ideas they have created. Sadly I don't think I'll get to see the show in NL.
I remember seeing the preview for the debut of this show on Bravo and i thought, " i can't miss this one," and then i saw a feature of them on a blog and a peek into their to die for home. I was hooked. I have the episodes set to record in case i am too tired to stay up to watch an episode. Totally adore the family and their personalities!

Oh yes, I'm addicted to this family! I marvel at how they can juggle seven (including their newborn!) seemingly fun-loving children and a successful business! I practically sit with pen and pad in hand to take notes while watching. Plus, their style of homes is an absolute bonus.

I'm SO into the show that I'm actually buying it on Amazon because I don't have a tv! (they loaded the first episode and the forth one onto Bravo & hulu but it's unpredictable!)

Gotta agree with Aura here - they seem like a nice family, so I'm definitely not slamming them, but I would caution all the ladies talking about what an inspiration they are, how they make it all look so easy, etc.
According to the NYT article, they have 3 nannies, a housekeeper, AND an intern. So they are getting a LOT of help. And there is NOTHING wrong with them getting that help, but I don't want women who can't afford such luxuries to feel bad that their own lives don't seem to match the glossy family portrayed on tv. Money doesn't buy happiness, but it sure can make it easier to be happy.
Plus, the cameras show what they want us to see - nothing more :)

I'm totally obsessed! Even my husband (who abhors reality TV) has to admit that they're pretty charming - and seeing Cortney drive around last week in a mini sealed the deal (his favorite car). What I REALLY love is their love of art and how they incorporate modern art into their kid's lives (and their bedrooms!). Oh, that, and they consistently make me laugh! :)

I am madly in love with everything in this family. They are so laid back and creative and do everything on a whim while maintaining a good relationship with each other and their kids. I want to be these ppl. So fab.
My husband and I are obsessed with 9 by Design! I love their eclectic design style. I also think the parents are really grounded and fascinating people. And who couldn't love their beautiful children? Great show.

I agree the NYTimes article is a little snide. I love this show and am in awe of this family- particularly Courtney. Of course they have their issues, but this is tv and I enjoy watching a righteous mom and dad making it happen for their family. There's enough disfunction on tv. I welcome the change.
How have I not seen this show yet? My husband and I have always put a little of our own style into the homes we buy, renovate, and re-sell, but have yet to be able to go all out and do something really fun. I can't wait to watch this!

I just started watching this show the other night and can't wait for another episode! I have no children and acomplish about 1/100th of what this mother accomplishes everyday! And I love the 11 year old' name - Wolfie - that's my vote for Little Little Cup's name! Wolfgang!
