Thank you cards

My baby shower is coming up this weekend (I'm excited), so I've been looking for thank-you cards in advance. Love this bright number!

P.S. I also have a box of these, but they're so pretty, I can't bear to send them away, which pretty much defeats the purpose.

  14. Something that we do at the baby showers we've been to is to have the guests fill out the envelope with their address so that we don't have to. It's also a nice way of checking how many people are there for games so that you don't have to search the place for stragglers.
Just an idea to keep your hand from falling off later.

  33. I love handwritten notes. My own letterpressing mom actual makes a cute thank you note, although I'm biased. She borrowed a line from the movie Fantastic Mr.Fox and letterpressed 'you really ARE fantastic' onto thank you notes.

These are great thank you cards
I bought for my sister to send out after her baby shower at Target of all places. They are on surprisingly good quality, thick/heavy paper with a vibrant print ink. I don't think the website does it justice. Maybe they have them available at the Target in Brooklyn. Plus you can't beat the price!!

  38. i'm the same way with notecards! sometimes I frame mine because they are so pretty and I can't bare to write on them :)

  40. You know what, Joanna? I've been the same way. (about pretty cards). The last month I've been doing a massive clear-out of apt. I have several packets of 'too pretty' to send notecards. (About half were ty notes). I'd send them if I were you. Frame one if it means that much to you...otherwise, the people who are coming to your shower are worth card. Yep.

    What's more important?

OMG alert from cranky old woman (well, older than most of you)...I just said send the cards. Do what you will...but I just saw someone write about having guests write out their envelope. No offense,my dears, BUT NO. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF IT. YES, I AM USING ALL CAPS. This kind of thing gets out of hand & that's why many many many of us no longer want to attend baby or wedding showers for many of you. NO work for guests. No, not even that. I'm serious. Stop it, now!

  42. I often feel the same way as you about pretty stationary you can't bear to part with. I've often wondered if I could buy stationary for myself and then give it to a friend who could write me letters on it!

  44. I know how you feel! That's the downside of buying pretty things - you can't bear to part with them!

    ReplyDelete
  45. These are really pretty. What you can do is keep one of each, frame them and hang them up in the baby's room. This gives you the excuse to keep one of each, plus your little guy might get a kick out of the story when he grows up a bit.
Hope you have an amazing shower!!

Re: cards you can't bear to part with... I suggest taking one & framing it (maybe near the front door to "thank" guests for coming) OR scan it to have the pretty print in your archive. These tricks always make it easier for me to part w/ my lovely stationary. =D

  50. Oh Joanna the ones you have from Rifle Paper Co. are soo pretty. But somebody once told me "what's the point in having beautiful things you never use?" So you should definitely use them if the mood so strikes you, your friends would appreciate them I'm sure. Or I also like Emily's suggestion above!

    ReplyDelete
  51. maybe you could frame one of those pretty green ones in a little frame and hang it in a nook, so when you walk by it reminds you of all of the happy people you sent the rest of them to?

  56. Oh, I sympathize. Omegle My husband and I were working for the same company Omegle Sohbet when I was pregnant, and I can't count how many times I hauled him out of his office out to the parking Omegle Chat lot so I could have a meltdown. (because of course I couldn't do it alone, I had to have a witness and then a hug after...)

  57. I'd much rather have Omegle that than a huge diamond! So much classier. Graham Cluley, omegle a researcher at security firm Sophos, Görüntülü Chat told BBC News that Twitter needs "much tighter control" over what users can put in a tweet to prevent similar problems in the future.
