Baby love

Now that we're so close to meeting our little guy, I've been gazing at babies on the street and looking up baby photos on flickr. I just can't get enough of babies! This flickr photo called "brushing our teeth" is so cute, it makes my heart hurt.

  11. There is something so special about brushing the teeth of the little ones. Maybe it's the feeling of their lovely, warm breath?

    My best friend is expecting her first baby and just found out in December! She's all the way in Texas (I'm in Atlanta). I love your baby posts because your emotions make me feel like I get to see what my bestfriend is feeling day by day.

You think that you know love- know it well- you think that you have loved deeply...you have no idea until baby comes- then love hits you like an avalanche, takes your breath away, sets you up for the rest of eternity with that aching heart bursting out all over the place- really, you don't know what love is until baby comes!   23. This post is perfect! We juuuust bought our 1 year old his first toothbrush yesterday. Our 3 year old daughter picked it out for him. She tried to justify the princess one but in the end decided Elmo suited him better. The best part? He only has four little teeth to brush:)

  40. Joanna - I'm delurking to say that this is what's so great about being a parent! Even though my daughter's 6 1/2, even though she can drive me up a wall, even though I'm freaked out about the thought of her as a teenager...my heart still hurts just at the thought of her! Even as I sit at my desk at work, while she flits through her day at school, my heart hurts in all the best ways when her picture pops up on my screensaver! You'll (hopefully) never get over it! Lyla

  41. I was just looking at my daughters baby pictures last night and I couldn't believe how precious they were --- I loved evey minute of pregnancies and breastfeeding and all.... Take good care of yourself and the little peanut - last stretch!!! You'll be such a wonderful mom!!!!

  45. You should totally check out Smitten Kitchen's flickr photos of her little boy. I was feeling really nervous about having a baby boy until she linked to him on one of her posts. He is just so stinkin' cute, it made me excited to see what MY little guy is going to look like! And I know when it's my OWN kid, I'm going to think he's even cuter, if that's possible!!!

  47. Congratulations! A baby is always so much fun to have in the family. My sister-in-law had a girl last year, and it has been so much fun (and I'm just the aunt!) There is nothing more exciting than exploring with her, and crawling and watching her as she tries to figure out everything around her.

When my wife was still conceiving our first baby, every time she had to rest, I used to spend my mornings on benches aligned at the nearest park down to out narrow street in Murrels , Inlet, SC. Dentist and local merchants come and go, and I was spending my whole time looking at every babies and child being carried by their mothers, or lying on their strollers while being carefully pushed. Excitement, oh, that was the best feeling. I dreamt of fetching him to the nearest dentist, accompanying to first grade school, and all that.
    And I am feeling that again as I read your post. Thanks for the memories.
