Book covers

The baby was kicking, so I woke up super early this morning and spent a random hour looking through book covers online. So many hilarious and clever designs out there!

  10. I really like how literal the covers are, in an metaphorical sort of way. The inappropriate cover cracked me up, and I love the font on the milk cover. Book cover art is what always sells me on a book. Sometimes I end up with some really bad ones just because I can't resist a pretty face!

  13. Joanna, my boyfriend looked over my shoulder to see me swooning at the Penguin-Book postcard set you posted a couple of weeks ago, and he ordered it and surprised me with it yesterday! That just proves that he's the sweetest ever, and that we all have great taste! :)

  26. I'm a sucker for old leather-bound books. The covers aren't necessarily as interesting as the ones you posted, but they look so classy and elegant, and they always smell sooooo good. :-)

  28. Now that I'm working at a book publisher, I am SURROUNDED by awesome book covers at all times. My favorite in the last day def was Lobel's Meat Bible which is absolutely for meat lovers only :)

  44. I LOVE Anthony Doerr! His book 'Five Seasons In Rome' is hilarious and beautiful! It's about him and his wife moving with two newborn twins! It would be extra funny for you to read! :)

  48. I've totally bought books because I loved the cover art. It usually turns out ok, I haven't regretted a purchase yet. So maybe you can judge a book by its cover?

  49. When I was in college I co-owned a co-op textbook store. Someone tried to sell us back the book Milk (we weren't buying it back) and it ended up in the donation box. I totally snagged it due to the amazing cover. The book itself wasn't as interesting though!

  51. I could stare at book covers all day. It's true, I totally judge a book by its cover. I love closing a book, and turning it over to marvel at the beautiful cover. One of the reasons why I will never use a kindle!

    I splurged on those vintage Penguin postcards and they just arrived in the mail today. Yippeee! I think I'll frame a few and hang them up in my bedroom. I heart books!
