Baby's first pajamas

We just got these organic cotton train pajamas for the baby, and they are so cute, my heart hurts every time I look at them. It's amazing to imagine a wriggly baby wearing them in just four months.

  32. Very cute. Baby clothes are the bane of my existence. We still have so many of my daughter's clothes that still have tags on them. We're having a little boy in two more months, so I can't really reuse many of them, and it's so hard to pass them on or donate them! My husband and I have a rule that we won't pay more than $15 for any baby clothes, unless it's for a special occassion (we leave it to Grammie to go crazy on clothes). They grow out so fast!

Also, I wouldn't really spend money on buying "newborn" sized clothes, because they grow out of them soooo fast!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh cute! I see train sets in his future. He'll be a little conductor--so sweet :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. oh my goodness so adorable!! you'll have to get him a matching play train set to go with it! and maybe even a conductor hat!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. There is really nothing cuter than baby footie pajamas! Except maybe butt-flap pajamas, but they don't really make those anymore.
Only four months to go, eeeep!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I can totally see le bebe being a cute, cuddly little wiggle worm in this get-up. Great find, Joanna. Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I just went to the ECO site. I don't know how you decided on those jammies. I would have had a breakdown trying to pick a pair.

    ReplyDelete
  38. OMG - everything on the site is so cute! Everywhere around me it seems babies are popping up and out! Though it isn't in our plans yet, I can't wait for a wriggling baby myself! Will live vicariously through you for time being :)

  40. So cute! And you were so smart to get pajamas with a zipper. Changing a diaper in the middle of the night with snap pajamas with a howling baby is so not fun. I chucked those within a week.

Four months? Only four months until spring? Yeah you!

    ReplyDelete
  41. SO ADORABLE!!! I'm due in May! So I have been counting down the months I can't wait for our baby boy to arrive!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. so adorable!!!! i'm buying them for my friend's soon-to-be baby. 4 months! exciting!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Good for Alex on wanting to keep the name for just you guys. Honestly, I think you may regret this everything out in the open. You might want to think how the baby will feel many years from now. I speak from experience.

    Adorable pjs, absolutely.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Aw, so tiny and fleecy and cozy and cute! I like the teal colour. It's far superior to both green and blue!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yay! So excited for you guys! :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. kate, thanks for your advice! i do keep many (actually most) things very private and share just what alex and i are both comfortable with (and feel our child will be comfortable with). i feel very confident about my choices there, especially after nine years of magazine writing and over three years of blogging. but thanks for your note! xo

  51. Related, sort of. Can't remember where I saw this idea, but buy a 12month sized onesie and then take a photo of baby in it on each birthday of the first year (1 month, 2 month, 3 month, etc.) in the same place. The sample I saw was an overhead shot of baby in the crib. The resulting 12 images really illustrated how much baby grows and changes in a year. You know it, but seeing it represented this way was so powerful and sweet.

  52. Adorable. My daughters came home in PoP too (and their dad even grew up wearing it)! When I first got the outfits, I thought "so tiny...even for a baby" but then my babies were born and there was still lots of room to grow. Isn't this just the most magical time? xoxoxo

  53. what a sweet idea, andrea!!!

  57. PoP is right down the street from me and i pass it every time i'm downtown. 99% of the time i end up inside and forget the moment that i was wooed past the front door. but it happens...99% of the time ;) my nieces and nephews are lucky little peas...because they fit in those little onesies and i don't :( but one day soon i hope to have my own little pea to slip into a onesie just like this choo choo one. fab pick joanna! can't wait to see your little man all cozied up in it :) hope you're feeling good! xo

  62. these are the really snuggly kind! perfect for showing off baby belly and legs and other dimensions that melt your heart.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Isn't it amazing that those little bumps in your belly are tiny little feet that will soon be kicking in THOSE sweet PJ footies??? I'm so happy for you-- and I think writing about these little milestones helps us to be more aware and present as motherhood unfolds...and, it lets us all share your joy. Thank you!

  64. katy, you're so right -- that is so weird!! :)

  65. unbelievably cute!! buying the first few outfits is so much fun, right?

and now i really want to get a few of these jammies for my five month old...even though my husband made me promise no more baby clothes for awhile. i guess i'll just have to wait for his next growth spurt. :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Oh I love the feetie jams, the babies do too, keeps them super warm from head to toe. I dislike any drafts getting on their lower back.
I think if it is a boy, it should be NIGEL.
    I know, you didn't ask.

But your uncle and all....so fitting.
    So cute. xoxo
