Ok, I have a random confession: I used to be scared of dogs. Since we never had pets growing up, I assumed dogs on the street would walk by and just bite my hand off! But Alex adores them so much that he's taught me to love them, too. Look at these sweet photos of Camilla Engman's pup Morran. What a seriously rad life she has in Sweden!Do you have a dog? xo

I'm a cat girl. Recently got two kittens. Would love a dog as well, though. Those pics are so funny - especially the bottom one of him contemplating the lake.
ReplyDeleteI have never had a dog! My parents thought it was too much hassle (but that didn't stop us from having cats, rabbits, a lamb, parrots, finches, crayfish, SILK WORMS, turtles and fish).
ReplyDeleteI have a dog too and whenever I go away to college I miss her like crazy! I'm glad you've warmed up to them :)
ReplyDeletehi joanna! i do have a WONDERFUL dog named roxy - my blog is kinda all about her...i hope you'll stop by sometime!
ReplyDeletewww.walkswithroxy.blogspot.com
:)
I do indeed have a dog, he is one half of the Kitty BEAR chronicles as I call him my little bear. He's a 15 year old yorkie poo and my best friend. Don't tell the cats though.
ReplyDeleteI used to be afraid of dogs too. In fact whenI first got my puppy I was nervous to be around her alone. That changed quickly! Owning a pup is one of the greatest pleasures in life.
ReplyDeleteCute! No I don't have a dog.... I'm not keen on them. Too slobbery for me! haha. But I'm also allergic to them so that kind of stops me from having pets too!
ReplyDeleteI have two dogs, Fritz and Bruno, and they are everything to me (well, along with my husband!). They bring so much joy and happiness into my life every single day.
ReplyDeleteWe're adopting our first dog tonight. I never had dogs growing up, so I'm a little nervous. He's such a sweetheart though, a puggle--half beagle, half pug--but he looks like a miniature black lab.
ReplyDeleteYes I have a dog, he lives in Paris, eat French cheese and even has his own blog :)
ReplyDeleteI've got a 5-year old French bulldog named Spike. I bought him in North Bay, Ontario. I was living in Montreal in 2004. It was a long drive to get him.
ReplyDeleteIn 2006, he followed us to Taipei, Taiwan. He's living nicely with a kitten we adopted last year.
He's a great dog and my wife and I want to become French bulldog fanciers once we move back to the US.
I do!! He lives with my parents now. His name is Brinkley, but we call him everything but... like, Brink, Frinkles, Mr. Frinkles, Pup love, Monster, Frink, Frinkley, Pups. Interestingly, he responds to all names! Teehee! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a Jack Russell. My fiance has a Dalmatian. They're the cutest things on the planet. Take a peek here (aww, little buddies!):
ReplyDeletehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/sneakybeats/2376665175/
oooh, jen, how exciting!!!
ReplyDeleteTwo dogs, Gus and Ollie.
ReplyDeletethey are a hoot and a half, and always find a way to make me smile even on the crappiest of days.
I have dog, and she actually looks like she could be Morran's distant cousin (http://lifeofmelbelle.blogspot.com/2009/07/my-little-lady.html)
ReplyDelete: )
I absolutely love dogs. Lexie is my min long-haired dachshund. She travels quite a bit with me since she is so portable! :) I can be scared of some big dogs, however, esp when they seem aggressive.
ReplyDeleteHere's a couple of pics of Lexie
http://myturtleneck.blogspot.com/2009/11/hey-thanks.html
I just adopted. She is the best. I love having something to care for!
ReplyDeleteI love that last picture of the dog. I love dogs. I don't have one because I don't have space for one...but I will one day. An English bulldog would be just perfect! =D
ReplyDeleteWhat a cuuuute doggy! She looks a lot like mine, who I blog about incessantly: http://www.sunshine-cupcakes.com
ReplyDeleteI never had dogs growing up either. I gotta say, I was really really missing out!!
I have two dogs - Bella and Beemer. They are hound mixes and are rescues from a puppy mill situation (they are brother and sister!). When we first got them, they were so timid, but have warmed up a lot. Rescue dogs are the best! It's like they know they got a second chance.
ReplyDeleteMiss Jo, I used to be terrified of dogs, too! When I was very little our across-the-street neighbors had the SWEETEST and most gentle sheepdog named Daisy. She never did anything to me.... except be twice my size! It took me until adolescence to be "ok" with big dogs.
ReplyDeleteGlad you've grown to like them. I am a cat person, but I do definitely see how dogs can fill a companionship void that a lot of cats cannot. And yay for adopting, Tracy. =)
I have 2 dogs, but more like 2 kids; they seriously think they're "people"! And they're best friends: http://birdforbread.com/?p=151
ReplyDeleteSooo cute! Thanks for sharing. I never had a dog growing up and now I'm desperately waiting for one. My boyfriend and I have an agreement that once I finish grad school (THIS YEAR!!)and we get an apartment where dogs are allowed, we're going to get a Boston! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend and I have a Rotti and it's actually funny to see people vear in the other direction when we walk her. I know they have a bad rap, but not every dog is bad.
ReplyDeleteYup, and she turned me into a marshmallow.
ReplyDeleteNow, all animals have the face of my dog. I can't eat my dog.
I'm now a vegetarian.
Yes! i have two dogs, both rescues and they're the best, most monstrous things you've ever met.
ReplyDeletei have the cutest chocolate brown cocker spaniel in the whole wide world, he has taken over my heart :)
ReplyDeleteI never had a dog growing up either and was either scared of them or just didn't want them to touch because of the possible Yuk factor. Since I met my husband I am now on my 4th dog - dalmatians to be specific - I'm in love. They are my babies and I'd happily have them on my lap 24/7. I'm missing them very much right now as I'm in Spain for the week and they are staying with my sister in FL - Get one for your husband for Christmas - greatest gift ever!
ReplyDeleteI love dogs, but have never had one. Both my parents were allergic. :( I would steal that dog in the pictures though!
ReplyDeleteno dog...just a furry child.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a dog named Warner and I miss him very much. :( He was the best dog.
ReplyDeletei have a darling pug named ruby who loves like no one i know.
ReplyDeletemy husband and i have conversations with her daily.
:)
I love dogs! <3 I've got one of my own, Miggy- a chihuahua, 4 years after Peanut, my poodle died. It was painful, and I thought I wouldn't want to own a dog again to avoid that pain. :p But I couldn't resist.
ReplyDeleteWe have cats, but I have always, always wanted a dog. My boyfriend has always had dogs and actually hates cats. Haha I am trying to make him fall in love with my cats.
ReplyDeleteI do not so much have "dogs" as I have two fuzzy babies who literally consume me and me my fiancee. Out about in the world you would never guess that we are two complete loonies who come back into the privacy of our home and speak to our pups in tongues, roll around on the floor playing with them, let them sleep in our beds!!! Shhh it's our little secret.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you should get one, they completely light up our life!
oh gods i love morran! she is the absolute best!
ReplyDeletei have dog, yes, but she lives with my mother and i don't see her too often.
look at my little baby gizmo: http://mondmelodie.blogspot.com/search/label/gizmo
I have always had dogs and absolutely adore them! I don't have any right now, but my friends do, so they are my surrogate dogs....nothing better than a dog to hug! xxoo
ReplyDeleteWhile I do personally know Bailey’s (@ peppermint bliss) adorably cuddly and oddly athletic dogs very well, they aren't as cute as my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Bonnie. If you’re ever having a crappy day, Google images of cavaliers can really help!
ReplyDeleteOh, I've always wanted a dog, but it's solely cats for me. These pictures remind me of the show Wishbone! :)
ReplyDeleteWe have a contraband cat (our apartment complex doesn't allow them) but no dog yet. I've been begging for one for over a year, but until we find somewhere decent to move that allows them, it's not going to happen. :(
ReplyDeleteI have a luovely lil guy "Derby" you can see his pic at my blog 'La Maison Fou "
ReplyDeleteHH'
Leslie
i don't have a dog, but i do have a tendency to squeal and coo and get all distracted when i see on. thanks for sharing these pictures!
ReplyDeleteI have a cat now, but my boyfriend keeps promising we'll get a dog someday after he graduates. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteCute portraits of this doggie! She's living the good life.
ReplyDeleteOur dog has richly enhanced our lives. She's a fiesty little angel in dog form! Our Doxy is a medium-sized "island dog", which is what we in the Caribbean call a mutt. (We also refer to her as a Coconut Retriever- self-explanatory!)
She appeared on the scene right when we felt ready for another canine, a few months after losing our beloved old lab.
I love dogs and I love the pictures :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I have some! : ) I don't just look at my dogs as dogs, but as extended family members. We have a Doberman and a Chihuahua. Both sleep with us and are pretty spoiled. I can't imagine life without them! I love the loyalty they give back and the love my family shares with them.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a dog, but these photos are making me wish my cats were more portable!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a dog, I think my cat would hate me forever if I got one. But I REALLY want a French Bulldog! Really bad! These dog pics are SO cute! I love animals! I'm glad you got over your fear, they are amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and daughter love dogs, and I'm warming up to them too. We are going to start looking for a puppy in March. My husband's dream dog is a Giant Schnauzer, but I think I'm more of a mutt kinda girl!
ReplyDeleteI like cats, but I really love dogs.
ReplyDeleteWhen you become their friend, they'll do anything for you. They are faithful and honest.
As my daughter says, and she's 5 years old, "cats just sit there, dogs do everything with you".
hopefully we're getting a dog after the holidays :) saying hi from Manila!
ReplyDeleteIn south America dogs on the street really will bite off your hand, leg, or whatever bodybpart gets too close. They are also always infected with rabies or even worse, they bark, howl and whine all day and all night. They roam everywhere , mate everywhere and leave feces everywhere Needless to say I will never own a dog. Too many sleepless nights in Chile...
ReplyDeletemyra = dog person
ReplyDeleteI have the doggie radar (dogdar?) on all the time and can spot a cute dog from a mile away. My hubby and I have a siberian husky right now. My mom didn't have any pets growing up and was terrified of dogs for the most of her life. When I was little, we had a husky and for years and my mom was scared of him... it wasn't until we got a pomeranian that she started to love dogs. Nowadays, she's a dog lover too.
I'm kind of scared of cats though... after a BAD childhood experience. ;P
That is too cute! I love dogs and have been begging to get one for years. My husband is allergic to them though. I tell him he should just take some Benadryll. I'm kinda joking when I say that.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do have a dog :) I actaully have two. I am a big dog lover. I actually used to write for pet magazines. Logan, my french bulldog actually has his own blog!! We just started it. Check it out if you have a chance:
ReplyDeletethelazydogblog.com
Love your blog!
Best,
Jen
We have a dog. Her name is lilly and she is an all white jack russel. We are currently trying to teach her to beg - which is pretty funny because she will sit up in the beg position and then VERY slowly fall over backwards... I think she thinks that is what "beg " means.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, my goldendoodle makes our lives complete. There's nothing like cuddling up with a furry dog on cold winter nights, and feeling like it's the most exciting thing in the world when you get home from work everyday.
ReplyDeleteLots of pictures of Roots dog on my blog if you're wondering what a goldendoodle is :)
my 7 week old puppy is currently trying to bite my hand off and eat my hair, but I love him.
ReplyDeletehere's Riley: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jenniferstuartdesign/sets/72157622918037750/
I used to be scared of them when I was young. Really scared...then we got a dog. Since then, it has been a love affair as I am a true dog person. Very great pics!
ReplyDeleteI love dogs and own one - a chocolate lab - who is my world.
ReplyDeleteThis dog is adorable; what a celebrity! I feel like these photos should accompany a children's story. "Morran's Crazy Adventures," perhaps?!
Yes - my Border Collie named Cooper. Ironically I "introduced" him yesterday. Here he is... http://beautifullivingstyle.blogspot.com/2009/12/cooper.html
ReplyDeleteI grew up with dogs, but my husband and I travel too much now to keep one. We do have a very large, very fluffy orange cat who loves his kitty sitter, though!
ReplyDeleteI have two pugs who I absolutely adore! They are so sweet, but kind of idiots most of the time. If I didn't have them in my life, though, I don't know what I would do!
ReplyDeletethis is so dang adorable! I love these photos, especially that one of Morran on the rock in front of the ... castle? anyways, it made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI used to be more of a cat person. never afraid of dogs but didn't like the slobber. then I got my own little puff ball and I have converted. now I am a lover of pretty much all dogs!
I think you've seen her before, but if you want to take a peek at the CUTEST dog in the world (no bias here, I swear!) click over to my blog-- I posted a pic of Hazel in her winter jacket in my last post :)
I don't, but my boyfriend has a rescued Great Dane mix. It's the perfect situation! I get all the cuddles and fun, but don't have to worry about monetary cost or getting up early to walk her, etc. Plus, any Madison-related "work" I do is going above and beyond the call of duty :)
ReplyDeleteYes! My boyfriend and I adopted a German Shephard/Husky mix. His name is Timber. Here's a recent post I have of us.
ReplyDeletehttp://cityloveee.blogspot.com/2009/11/friday-friday-friday.html
:)
I got my lab/golden retriever mix right after I graduated from college. A dog is certainly not a baby, but still, having a pet means you're responsible for a living creature. Mine's been a lot of work but I wouldn't trade her for anything.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. I can't imagine our house without a dog around. His name is Storm, and he's a rescued mutt. He's awesome, and so great with our kids. We all adore him.
ReplyDeleteSome of my happiest moments in life are spent walking with my dachshund Billy on the beach at low tide. Once you find your dog connection, you will feel the same way.... ; )
ReplyDeleteI have the same issue. We had cats growing up so I've always been more of a cat person, but dogs have always freaked me out a little. But the small ones sure are cute :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE DOGS! I have a Korgie mix. He is so sweet, greedy and SPOILED. we treat him like a human.
ReplyDeleteI have two Chihuahua's (charlie & lola) but I used to be more of a cat person before that. I did grow up with pets though so I was never too afraid of dogs. Just Rottweilers and Pitbulls! :)
ReplyDeleteI, too, have spent the better part of my life being terrified of dogs on the street! And I blame it on the lack of animal companions in my home growing up as well. But I'm learning that when dogs are good and well trained, they're so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteNo dog for me - my husband and I like to be footloose and fancy free and that means keeping to our own crazy schedules and not a dog's. It wouldn't be fair to leave a doggie at home while we're out and about so much. Some day when we're old and crumbly and home more often I'll think about a dog. For now I volunteer at an animal shelter to get my doggie fix.
ReplyDeleteDo I have a DOG?????
ReplyDeleteI wish wish wish we had a dog! I am the neighborhood animal stalker. Everytime Maddox, the English Bulldog from a few doors down comes out to play, I run outside to greet her:)
ReplyDeleteI love animals so much.
But alas, my boy has severe allergies...ho hum.
my boyfriend used to be the same way! he never had pets growing up but he fell in love fast with my family's dog and since then is the biggest dog lover i know- seriously obsessed. for right now we are lucky enough to have a cat with very dog-like tendencies but once we have a bigger apartment we cannot wait to add a little pup to the family
ReplyDeleteit seems this dog has seen more sights than i have!
ReplyDeleteI use to pretty much hate all animals. I still do cats. I've never really been afraid of dogs - I just didn't like them. My husband on the otherhand is an animal lover. I have compromised a lot and we currently have 5 dogs! 3 outside and 2 inside! I still don't like other people's dogs though.
ReplyDeleteyes, unfortunately. hair, stink, slobber, neediness, food-thievery. not for me. but i do love them from afar.
ReplyDeletei have the cutest ridgeback - let me know if i should send you pics :)
ReplyDeleteI used to be afraid of dogs too! I believe there was some childhood "trauma" where I was scratched that caused my terror.
ReplyDeleteI love dogs now though. We have a very neurotic terrier, who I'm very much attached to.
~katie
I used to never be afraid of dogs until a year ago. While I was walking home from class, a dog came out of nowhere and started barking at me and biting me. I only got a couple scratches, but ever since I have been afraid of dogs with no owner
ReplyDeletePuggles Rock!
ReplyDeleteI was the same- totally terrified of dogs since we didn't have one. I could only have birds and hamsters because my mom didn't want to take care of a dog- and can I just say- BIRDS ARE THE MESSIEST THINGS, EVER? OMG.
ReplyDeleteSo something funny happened when my twin sister and I moved out of the house and on our own- she got a dog. And then she got another dog. And then she got a dog for me to keep me company. And then she bought three more dogs. And then my mom bought two dogs for herself. So we went from being a family of absolutely NO dogs for 22 years to a family of 4 humans, 9 dogs in a timespan of about oh- 6 years.
I have two long-haired chihuahuas. They are my absolute babies! They're little licky lovebuggy clowns beneath a shakey, snarly exterior. Trust.
(Or as I explain to others- they only snarl at small children, because they are chihuahuas and you can't take the chihuahua out of a chihuahua. Something about a small child's rough motor-skills freakity-freaks them out, and it is what it is.)
(But here's my baby chi, Petunia, sleeping with my Husband. SEE? LOVEBUGS.)
I thought my dog was cultured... he lived in Chicago, Washington D.C. and even lived a few months at Syracuse University! All before he was 1! But it seems Morran's got it made... so photogenic!
ReplyDeleteI have a dog named Tiger he is adorable, I blog about him a lot! I adore Camilla's blogs about her dog, Morran!
ReplyDeleteI'm a cat person. We're adopting a kitty from the shelter for our first Christmas in our new home! I'm kind of intimidated by dogs but I do love a big lumbering fuzzball. But I need a pet that is a little more self-sufficient. Otherwise I'd have kids!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like me, except that I still haven't gotten over my fear. You may have to teach me how ...
ReplyDeleteWe have a boxer and oh my, is she lovely. Fawn in colour, with a black mask, I would highly recommend them to anyone. We have children and she's fab with them and us and just a great companion to have around. We love her to bits!
ReplyDeleteaw, i want a dog SO MUCH. i'm trying to wait until i graduate next fall, though.. :(
ReplyDeletemy dogs light up my whole world!!!

Oh, thank you Sesli sohbet for sharing! Sesli chat I'm in the midst of wedding planning, Camfrog 18 Odalar and both my fiance and I are NOT görüntülü chat cake lovers, and can't imagine spending hundreds of dollars on one dessert we don't even like! Who's she kiddin'. Amazing dog, that dogs a model! I have a cute yorki called oli he's amazing. He brightens up my day, although he's not good in pictures.

Dogs are wonderful! So are cats! Life without animals would be sad and dull. They will only bite your hand off if they are afraid which is no fault of their own. Animal guardians have a duty to love, nurture and care for their beasts, kind of like raising children.
