Fab Over Fifty

When she started surfing the web, my friend (and mentor) Geri Brin found that most websites and blogs seemed to be geared toward younger women. So she's starting a new website, Fab Over Fifty, to bring together smart, stylish women over fifty. Amazing women are already part of it (including Cathie Black, president of Hearst Magazines, and author Suzy Welch), and the website will cover beauty, books, shops, home decor--everything. Isn't that a wonderful idea?

Fab Over Fifty will launch this January, but you (or your mothers!) can sign up for the mailing list here (and enter to win five nights in this Paris apartment). xo

joanna! i posted that picture on my blog months back and upon my first few white hairs that have just started popping up (at 20!), i was frantically looking for this yesterday to show to a co-worker as my reasoning for not wanting to color!

...you read my mind :) and what a cute blog! xoxox

This is a really fabulous idea. It's weird how society acts with women over a certain age. It feels unfair that men have no age barriers, while women are viewed as "old" when they hit 30. I wasn't sure if a lot of guys thought this way until I watched "Millionaire Matchmaker" on BRAVO. It made me ill.

I can't wait to tell all the fabulous women I know about this great site. =)

Great idea. Our society is so youth-obsessed, it really does a number on us as we get older. Older women do need to be represented more often. And that photo, man, I hope I look that good when I'm her age! She looks fab indeed!

Pin said...

oh, that woman certainly is fab! i hope i am half as fabulous as she is at that age.

just signed up...and am so happy the "over 50" pic is not a nipped and tucked, pushed and pulled, "don't I look amazing" 50 year old woman. She exudes confidence...bravo!

This picture makes me smile, I think it's so beautiful when a woman grows out her silvery strands rather than hiding it with dye or cutting it into a pouf, nice!

It's a great time to be 50+ these days. We really are moving into the new Matriarchal society; as scheduled.

I cannot wait to be able to rock the silver locks with the tawny skin, amber eyes and rosy cheeks.
I am almost there.

I LOOOOOOOOOVE this! I sincerely look up to women in their 50's and beyond. ESPECIALLY those without plastic surgery or botox! I truly feel that the older I get the more prettier I become and really embrace the whole aspect of aging.... I think this lady looks gorgeous!
