Hot air balloon ride

Would you love to take a hot air balloon ride this fall? According to Celine, you take off at dawn, and float above farms, rivers and barking dogs. After the ride, you land in a field, and farmer's children run up to you in their pajamas, while you pop open a bottle of Champs. Up up and away!

  4. My best friend and I did a balloon ride this summer. It was the perfect, sunny morning. I'd commute everywhere by balloon, if I could.

  17. I'm not afraid of heights, but there's no way you could get me into a hot air balloon. Small plain or helicopter = yes; Balloon = no.

  20. I'm from the beautiful Berkshire Hills in Massachusetts, and I have a coworker whose boyfriend took her on a hot air balloon ride on October morning several years ago and proposed in the sky over all the foliage and rolling farms! When they landed in a field, the balloon crew had champagne ready for a little celebration.

  21. When I lived in Charlottesville, VA, you always heard the balloons early in the AM. I'm afraid I'd be terrified of the heights, but one day I'm going to try to conquer that!

  27. I have a friend who decided to take his girlfirend to Quebec and propose. He set up a romantic balloon ride over Quebec City and was going to pop the question then. The winds changed and the balloon ended up crash-landing in a group of trees, and the fire department had to come and rescue the crew and couple. His plan was foiled, but the worst part was that her family knew, so when they got back to the hotel, her family called and said "Congratulations!" and were asking for all the details and she had no idea what they were talking about. HOWEVER - I would definitely still like to take a balloon ride :)

I love these pictures.

Its true. I grew up surrounded by four fields and some of my best childhood memories involve hot air balloons. my father would often help the riders pack up their balloons and they would celebrate in our driveway while my brother and i watched from our kitchen window in our pajamas. I've never flown in one but they hold a dear, magic-like quality for me.

  41. I had a beautiful hot air balloon experience when I was younger, our whole family went on a balloon ride. It was so peaceful floating about the world that way - until they have to fire it up (it singes your head!) We landed in a field where a baby elephant and it's mother were out for a walk. So much fun! (I grew up in Zimbabwe so elephants were a little more probable...)

  42. this looks fabulous even though i am afraid of heights! i think the muted colors (in contrast to the colors you usually see with hot air balloons) is part of the loveliness! luckily, a hot air balloon is coming to visit the 7th grade at the middle school where i work this week, so maybe i'll take a ride, if i can find my courage!
