Home Inspiration: London

What a bright and beautiful house in London. I'd love to move right in and start working on my British accent. (The giant Penguin book-cover-cum-artwork is fantastic, don't you think?)

  26. I live in London and have just moved flats to a place that has the highest ceilings imaginable! Not exactly something to complain about but embarking on 'Project cozy' in my new home. Love the ladder by the bookshelf in the first image. Inspired me to embrace the high ceilings and search for an old ladder to varnish!

  31. That flat is so lovely - you know, I ride my bike down that street all the time, I should start peering through people's windows more often.

I don't know about the Penguin ones in particular but I know one of my favourite second hand bookstores in London, Skoob off Russell Square (skoob.com) sells these great vintage book cover posters... I have a couple from them, they are great. They also sell them on ebay:

    http://shop.ebay.co.uk/skoobrussellsquare/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340

The V&A shop (here: http://www.vandashop.com/section.php?xSec=195&navlock=1) also has some vintage book cover posters but I've never seen the penguin ones there either.

I have seen the occasional bit of gift-wrap with a penguin cover on it, but apart from that it's just the mugs and cute bookbags and so forth... you can get those here: http://www.artmeetsmatter.com/products2.php?cat=11 but i'm sure you have seen them before!

But these Penguin postcards come out soon, I can't wait! Have you seen them? If I can part with them, I will love choosing what to send to whom!

  45. The space is gorgeous, but if I had to pick just one room, it would be the bathroom. I can see myself in a bubble bath, candles lit, looking out the window.

My wife has just bought me a Harland Miller "The Mancunian Candidate". Only thing is it's so huge I don't want to use up so much wall! Maybe I could place it under a glass sheet and have it as a table?
