My dear readers, thank you for always being so wonderful (and putting up with my wedding obsessing). I'd love to ask, how are you? What's going on in your life right now? Big, small, good, bad, funny...I would love to hear! xoxo

  14. Things are ok. Boyfriend and I are on that "do we move in together" fence so that's been stressful. Stressed about money but also reaching the breaking point with my job that I've been miserable in for 3 years (really). But I've recently found a love of sewing and embroidery that has been theraputic. And blogging and reading blogs is a good stress reliever. :)

  23. Like TFH. said, I'm so excited for your wedding, Joanna! Especially the day you'll share your photos.

I've been systematically conquering my fears since January, so this year has been difficult but rewarding. This month has been gentle and gorgeous (as summers can be!), though my day job has been challenging in the last week. Some days I wonder if I could be paid to blog, like you!

After many tests, and a two months of fertility treatments to save embryos before chemo, I have learned that it has miraculously gone into remission on its own. 64. What a terrific, albeit loaded, question! The main thing I’m struggling with at the moment is finding a new job. I’ve worked the same publishing job for the last three years, and I am ready for a new challenge. It doesn’t help that this is THE worst time to be looking for anything, so it makes the search even more frustrating. I hope to branch into doing freelance work (my dream would be to write for a blog, as well as writing for my own), so I’m trying to broaden my skill set. I remain optimistic.

Despite my struggles, I am grateful that I have the time to devote myself to all the things I love: my amazing boyfriend, great group of friends, my lovely apartment, my ever-growing pile of books, and exercising to achieve good health and a peaceful mind.

And I love hearing details about your wedding; I cannot wait to see pictures!

I just moved from California to New York state to start a new job and my partner of 6 years, at the last minute, wouldn't come with me. At least one of our dogs is here. It's pretty surreal. It helps to read everything else that is going on in strangers' lives--keeps things in perspective.

  102. Thanks for asking. I usually don't reply to these questions but today I just felt like it. I just started a costume internship at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. I miss my boyfriend who's in Connecticut. I may or may not have mono (I feel very sicky), I'm selling some things on etsy and generally trying to get by as a recent grad in this economy! I live off the pleasant little moments.

  103. Aw, I love your blog. You are so sweet to care, though we are strangers! I just moved to the city after graduating from college. I am so so excited to be here to further follow my dreams, but I am homeless and jobless for the moment, which is a bit daunting to say the least. Nonetheless, I'm broke but never broken. I'm hoping for a writing job, house sitting job, cat sitting job, assistant job, ANYTHING job, safe place to stay, all of the above!

Also, you're getting married on my birthday which makes me feel quite honored, indeed. :) I think you're terrific!

  104. I am exhausted financially. I have always gotten by, but when does the ship come in? The roof needs to be replaced because it leaks a lot. The heat and a/c are finished-kaput. The washer and dryer too. And the TV. And no stereo. Computer disc part doesn't work. Car a/c quit and only one window goes down and only halfway and it was 104 degrees yesterday. Need new tires and a major tune up and a seat belt for me that works. My children are grown and 6 hours away and money to see them is hard to come by. They can't afford college. I work and work.
But you know, I always see the glass as half full. Today, I am looking for the pitcher to fill it.
    Thanks for asking.
I do truly enjoy your blog.
If you have any real ideas to make money, please pass them to me.

  105. I agree that you're very sweet.

Things are going great! I have three small jobs, which is equally a slightly crazy life, but I'm making money for my move to England in 3 1/2 weeks! (I currently live in California.) I'm starting a Masters program in Philosophy at The University of Bristol. Plus, my boyfriend is there, and I haven't seen him in almost two months! So I'm getting excited!!! And I'm getting nostalgic, wanting to spend time with my family and friends before I cross the pond. Also doing lots of blogging, preparing myself to have my own ideas, which is apparently important in grad school.

Can't wait to hear about your wedding!

  108. typical Belgian weather, with midsummer night beer fests and music. Went to Momu museum during the museum nocturne and saw a impressive collection of clothing made out of a mixture of paper and cotton. Organising a garden party next weekend and feeling kinda nervous. Never had to make food for so many people. :)

  109. I'm ok. Just miss my boyfriend, who's away to Kenia. It's just for two week, but well...let's call it love :-)

  110. I'm currently on holiday with my family on an island north of Holland called Terschelling. Everything is done by bike and there are beautiful cycling trails...all sorts of bikes to rent and try out. You and Alex would love it. If you love bikes, you guys should really come to Holland.

  115. Better! I don't think I've ever answered that question with that answer but it's the absolute truth. I feel like I'm coming up for breath after diving under. It's kind of a relief to feel like myself again.

Oh and I'm really sore because I started a boot camp class on Monday and found muscles that I had forgotten about!
    It's a great feeling...sort of. :)

Oh - I wish I could have been answering this question about... a month ago?

I have an amazing bf, and I was all set to move to his city to be with him - i got a great job there and everything... then his dad passed away. And now he's feeling funny, about everything... and I'm so anxious because I'm due to move in a week and he's still not sure.

SO I'm trying hard to stay upbeat, but sometimes it's hard. Right now, I'm hoping that I'll look back in another month and I won't be waking up every morning with that unhappy feeling in my tummy.

Slugging away through summer school. I have also developed the hugest crush for one of my professors; we have a similar sense of humor and similar backgrounds. He's also dreamy and about 23 years older. How bad is that? Really inappropriate right? But, I'm so SMITTEN with him...

  122. Hmm...I'm busy, working all the time, and in the process of reinventing who I am. Finding this summer to be a lot less "fun" then I thought it would be...
