Engagement photos

These engagement photos remind me of a French psychological thriller. (The first one looks especially ominous!) "Meghan wore her grandmother's dress and Robb a vintage wool coat," says the photographer Emily Johnston Anderson. "The hat box is mine, which I suggested to complete the vintage look."

pardon me for my ineptitude! :)

  38. crafty sunday, engagement photos are just for the couple to celebrate the time in their lives, and often they are used as part of the wedding website or save-the-dates or invitation. you don't have to do them, it's just a fun thing to mark the special time in your lives. xo

The photos are quite lovely. I don't find them spooky or haunting though; not quite sure where that's coming from. Is it because they are not looking overjoyed and smiley?

  49. The photos are cute. The couple seems very much in love :)

  59. Crafty Sunday, also about engagement photos (sorry, not to beat the subject to death) but I've heard from photographer friends that, if you have the same person doing the engagement photos and the wedding, it's a good way for the photographer to become comfortable with the bride and groom, figure out what they like, what they don't like, and what they respond to. I think usually engagement photos are included in the price of the wedding shoot. Methinks.

p.s. I went to college with this people, and the photographer's sister. Is it bad to say I'm jealous? hehe.

  60. You know, i pass through this train station all the time and it never quite looks like this. Gorgeous.

  63. I don't really like them, they look like scenes from a movie, and not in a good way. I don't see how engagement comes in.

  64. These are so scrumptious! :) Remind me of some of the stuff from the newest Anthropologie catalog that I fell in love with. Love your taste.
