The Sartorialist Guide
I live in the West Village, so now and again, I'll pass fashion photographer The Sartorialist on the tree-lined streets. In my jeans and T-shirts, I've never been snapped, but luckily Refinery 29 just wrote a cheeky guide about how to get photographed by him. Oh my goodness, I laughed out loud.
Read it here...

Funny! :-)
how hilarious is it? i'm dying!!! "roll 'em, cuff 'em..." so funny.
oh man. this is too perfect. i think every gal in nyc has thought 'how cool would that be?'
so funny.
Hehehehe, this is funny. I love the "Old, rich and European" criteria for the guys. Hahahaha.
Haha it's so on point! There have been days where I've been outside thinking my outfit was Sartorialist-worthy, but alas, I never spot him :)
hilarious! I think about it all the time, but don't own anything expensive or a hat, so I know I'm not worthy, haha.
This is sooooooooo amazing!!!!! Every time I'm in NYC, Paris, Italy, wherever - I alwayyyys look for him but of course I never see him. :(
This is awesome.
Great one!! And what a creative linear chart? Impressive!

What a hoot!
OMG! Too funny! Ever since I found his website...I've been sooo a Sartoralist model wannabee! :)
The perfect Monday morning chuckle! The visions are to-die hilarious!
Too cute and funny. Loved it.
so so SO funny!!! kind of shows how a facet of the fashion world is purely ridiculous.
I never knew he had specific shooting spots... I'll file that away for next time I am in NYC, so I can watch him shoot maybe! Fun!
spot on!
I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair.
Ha hha! so right! thanks for the link!
Sardonically true!
oh geez. good luck :)
so much fun...i'm definitely going to bring a few extra shirts of my boyfriend next time i'm in nyc!
hahahaha! This is ridiculous!
"Stand on cobblestone street and wait..."
x
Hilarious!
hah! this is genius!
Totally hilarious! I wish I could come up with a decision tree like that for work. It would make me laugh all day!
Holy Moly, if I knew where he was I think I would make a total jerk out of myself trying to be as fashionable as possible. so fun
Omg, the "Are you old, rich and European?" line is too funny and too true!
Completely hilarious!
"Cuff 'em, roll 'em, make 'em too short"
You have got to stop linking to your Smitten posts Joanna - they are a huge time suck for me :) Happy Monday! xoxo
Ahh yes, I have a link to this fellow in the worth visiting section of my side bar. I though the article was hilarious! I often think of these pics as I'm getting ready for work in the mornings, but all the layering won't work in the Texas heat. But, I do love all the scarves and boots!
i love that you have such a sense of humor about blogging! :) it's refreshing.
HA HA! I don't live in NY, but I took the quiz anyway. It's back to the closet for me! I love the idea of adding a vintage bike wthich I do have)!!
so funny! "are you old, rich, or european...you're perfect just the way you are."......."how about a private school uniform?"
Oh, how I dream of being snapped by him...
Hahaha! Love it!
It is guides like these that make Mondays marvelous! :)
funny :P
I love browsing that site
Love this. So great!
Oh Jo thanks for posting this! So fantastic!
Ha ha, thanks Jo, really thoughtful!
HA!! I love it! When hubby and I took our trip to NY a couple months ago, as I was packing, I was thinking in the back of my mind "Is this something that could get me on The Sartorialist"... I was packing terribly uncomfortable, high fashion clothes. Then I stopped and realized I wanted to be comfortable and have fun, not try to be photographed, so I pulled all those clothes out of my suitcase and threw in jeans, sweatshirts, and tanks. I'm glad I made the switch and glad that I stopped being so silly. : )
very cheeky indeed! love your blog.
Loving this look. The plaid is awesome and I like how it's paired with brown accessories like the bag, skirt & hat. So cozy!
This is hilarious! thanks do much for posting the link!
I saw this earlier today and it totally cracked me up! Hilarious!
They got it right on the nose. If I lived in your neighborhood, I would specifically follow these guidelines and peruse the streets daily.
LOL... but I live in the wrong country !!
hee hee loved it.
Thank you for sharing the link, I died about seven times looking at their graph. It is pure genius. x
"YOU LOSE! back to the closet" lol! HI-larious!
I heart the Sartorialist...always so inspired by what he finds. and that article is fantastic...
I love the Sartorialist's flow chart; really fun. I am headed there.
xxOOO
hahaha hilarious, but so true! especially the cigarette and bike part, but since i dont smoke, it wont look as cool, so ill be piling of accessories then, haha im saving that when i go to nyc in the future :)
Ahaha that made me laugh out loud [and I'm in the quiet zone in the library!] too funny, thanks for sharing (:
I just read this guide some where else, and I am laughing a second time. But alas, I keep following the guide to the dead end that says I haven't got a chance. Darn it!
Lovely blog.
thanks for the smile ;)
