Have a relaxing weekend.

What are you up to this weekend? I'll be sleeping lots after a crazy busy week, going to dinner, watching this documentary and praying for sunshine. Have a wonderful weekend, and here are a few great posts from around the web this week...

Oh-so-glamorous pups.

Awesome stitched business card.

Remember those rad parachute things from childhood? Whatever happened to those?

Rolling clouds.

Wine cork place-card holders.

What the what?! These bacon chocolate pancakes look amazing!

Bored to Death.

Trampoline sells beautiful things.

Shadow fun.

This gorgeous locket reminds me of these tree tracings.

A 1920s/1930s hair tutorial!

True. Also, true.

Great Father's Day cards.

Wishing my feet weren't a whopping size ten. And these would look cute with jeans.

I keep wanting to do little-kid things lately, like going on swings, holding an egg-spoon race, and bouncing bouncy balls.

Cute tie for brothers and dads.

Gorgeous blue-and-white wedding dress.

Pretty tins here and here.

I just stumbled on this rad photo of my friend Kenan dressed up as Daniel Plainview. Genius. Uncanny.

Potato salad, reimagined. (via Automatism)

Three Billy Elliots.

Alex, I really, really love you. xoxo

We still use those rad parachute things with the kids at work. We use them on the last day of skating lessons and regularly when i work at the park. :) I think i almost have more fun than the kids!

I'd feel sadder for your size 10s if I didn't wear a size 12. That means no cute vintage stompers for each of us, I guess. Sigh.

the parachute! we still use one at our school, too. i was subbing for our phys. ed. teacher one day and the kids were playing 'shark!' with the parachute. basically, 2 kids as sharks, 2 as lifeguards. the 2 sharks got under the parachute, the lifeguards stood on the outside. everyone else found a seat on the edge of the parachute, held on for dear life, and shook the parachute like crazy. the sharks had to 'swim' to a victim and pull them under, but not before a lifeguard came along to save them. if they got pulled under, they became sharks. i nearly died from laughing, the kids were having so much fun!

thanks for the post...have a great weekend, too.

Great findings via the world wide web!

This weekend I will be making 40 cupcakes to take to a charity dinner on Sunday evening. Playing some tennise with my dad for Father's Day and hopefully getting some relaxing time in too. I have a couple movies from Netflix that I need to watch!

I too will be praying for sunshine, it's gloomy and looking like rain in Oregon.

XOXO

That Alex is a peach! Don't we all need love in our worst moments. A simple phrase can lift us out of a funk and make us recover much quicker from whatever-it-is that's bugging us. :)
Your links to the tins took me on a wild goose chase! You post the funnest linkage.
Happy weekend to you both. <3

How did you like King Corn? If you are interested in that type of stuff, also check out the author Michael Pollin. I recommend his newest book "In Defense of Food."

HI JO!
I did the 1920s/30s hair! It took me about forever, but it looks awesome (if I do say so myself). I pinned some flowers in front instead of a pin because I couldn't find one, and It's very cute. I'd post a picture but I don't know how. I had to share this with you because my brother doesn't appreciate it NEARLY as much as it deserves. Thanks (as always) for the weekend posts!
Sending lots of sun from LA,
-eve

You and your fiance sound a lot like me and my husband. We say I love you like 60 times a day, and I do ask him, "How much do you love me?" It's bad, but so tempting!!

Joanna Goddard said...

oh, eve, i'm sure you looked AMAZING!!!!! and willa, that's awesome :)

Those parachutes are still around. My four-year-old, Luke, gets to use one in his gymnastics class. It's hilarious to watch this group of tiny kids try to coordinate their actions, i.e. raise their arms to peek underneath it at the same time, bounce balls on it, throw it into the air and run underneath it. Luke loves it so much we bought one for him for Christmas. They're great for making indoor tents, too.

Thanks so much Joanna for including me in your links this week! Hope you are having fun in Cali!
