Feeling Smitten...

My dears, here's a weekly round-up of Smitten, my Glamour Magazine relationships blog...

Wedding do or don't: Would you have male bridesmaids?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how comfortable do you feel in a bathing suit?

Recession question: What do you refuse to skimp on?

Would you spend a month alone in Sweden? (I would!)

Which celebrity can you imagine dating?

What puzzles you or drives you crazy about men and their bodies?

Do you ever sleepwalk or sleeptalk?

One reader's horribly awkward sexual experience...

Have you read any good books lately?

Do guys like the way you dress?

Which of these three colorful dresses would you wear on a date?

One woman's super romantic letter to her husband.

Have you ever been robbed?

Cheap date idea: Bust out the yearbooks!

Would you wear this magic bra?

Do you keep your eyes open or shut when you kiss?

How are you feeling these days? Happy? Sad? Sleepy? Goofy?

As always, find much more on Smitten. Thank you. xo

  5. Yes, I would SO spend a month in Sweden! I think Chelsea totally rocks for living her dream. Despite the recession, I refuse to skimp on good quality hormone-free milk and "born free cage free" eggs, and hormone free meats. I cannot afford to eat all organic, but I won't give up these things.

  9. Impossible for me to skimp on makeup, hair products, etc. I can always tell....

I never kiss with my eyes open...who does that??? So freakish!

I've never been to a country alone, but I can't imagine a better way to learn all about yourself than that.

    Have an excellent holiday weekend!!

  14. I love your weekly roundups! I just finished Loving Frank (the story of the relationship between Frank Lloyd Wright and his client's wife, Mameh Cheney), which I really enjoyed. I found Mameh to be an incredibly fascinating and complex woman who was also very human and empathetic.

I'm currently reading your favorite, The History of Love. Admittedly, I wasn't really getting into it and couldn't see what everyone else loved about it. That is, until I just finished the chapter where Leo goes to his son's house and I won't say anything more about it, but I will say that it was exquisitely written and poignant and now I can't wait to read more!

  15. Oh, and I totally re-vist certain beloved books, the most recent of which is The Perfect Plot, a Nancy Drew Files book from my youth! I actually really got into it: it takes place at the country estate of a famed mystery author who dies and the house has all sorts of secret passageways and the book is populated with characters from the publishing world, which also happens to be the industry I work in. It was so much fun to read and I found it interesting that my tastes haven't changed much over the years!

  19. I would love to spend a month alone in a foreign country eventhough I'm married. I wouldn't think it was weird, but other people do. I never got to go on a study abroad. Is there a story about a married girl who left her husband for a month? p.s.s also, my Dad goes on a two week fishing trip every summer...there! it's justified! p.s. I love nancy drew...have you read or re-read From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler?

  20. According to the latest edition of Emily Post's Wedding Etiquette book:

"It's not unheard of anymore for a bride to have a male friend as one of her attendants or a groom to include a female as one of his. When these friends fill these roles of "best woman" and "man of honor," they are know as 'honor attendants.'"

There you have it, they even get a fancy formal title. =)

  21. Thank you for suggesting "Epilogue" i want to read it. And yes, i worry about my husband dying everyday. He is 14 years older than me and we have a 3 year old. I wouldn't know what to do without him. Oh My, i have never mentioned this fear to anyone....(strike that: he is fit and still young and i know in my heart he will be living a looong life.) oh, and i kiss with my eyes closed. Love the weekly roundup. Great post.

  22. my best friend petey-ie, aka peter hale cooney III, is one of my "bridesmaids". he came up with the term, "bride's butler". i love that. and him.

  23. My husband rereads books like crazy (his favorites he re-reads at least 2-3 times... a year! And he still manages to read new material!) His passion for re-reading has sparked more desire in me to do so and I now do sometimes, but I still feel like my list of "to-reads" is so long that re-reading takes away valuable time from making a dent in my continually expanding list :)
