My grandmother passed away this year...and these spoons remind me of her...and the numerous wooden spoons that were molded and loved throughout years of cooking. The spoons are beautiful!

ReplyDeleteI hope I win! I know this will sound CRAZY but my mom used to have a similar spoon. Many many moons ago, my younger brother whacked me with it and broke my finger. At some point my mom got rid of the spoon. I was so disappointed. It was an heirloom.

The herriott grace spoons are lovely, and the skill and care that went into them is almost tangible. What hooks me, though, is what goes on behind the scenes. The relationship between father and daughter. Love sent through the mail. Creating. Slowing down. Caring. The spoons remind me of what we should all strive for.
