  22. I read this article too last weekend. I was excited about it because my boyfriend and I are planning a week long canoe trip for our honeymoon along the Penobscot River in Maine this August. Needless to say there won't be any castles. Maybe canoeing in the south of France for our one year anniversary?

  65. I daydream of spring arriving because that means that summer is just around the corner! Gorgoeus photo...reminds me of canoeing down the Snake River in Idaho (minus the castle:-)) on my honeymoon many many moons ago. Thanks for bringing those great memories back!

  78. Joanna, we are renovating a home in France not too far from where this photo was taken. Perhaps you and your soon-to-be-hubby/fiance can stay there once the reno is completed. You'll have views onto the glorious Dordogne River where you can go canoeing past castles and whatnot for a few hours. We canoed with our little family last August and LOVED it. It doesn't have to just be a dream :)

  84. It's snowing here in Montreal, Canada, so thank you for this post! I could almost SMELL the spring grass the way you were describing a sunshiny day! I guess it's normal for this time of year, My last 2 posts have also been about spring/summer! Yes, now I too am dreaming of canoeing next to castles! I desperately need a vacation and am so disappointed I couldn't stay at your apartment!!
