Home Inspiration: Pops of Red

I never used to love red, but my friend Abbey always raved about how wonderful it can be. Tonje Holand's beautiful house in Norway helps prove Abbey's case. (Love those red lips!)

  4. I love red as an accent color. Just a little red adds so much impact to a neutral room.

    I've also seen "red rooms" that I think are pretty cool. I tend to get overwhelmed by a lot of red though, they're just not for me. I like my red in teeny doses.

  8. I love little hints of red. It reminds me of all my favorite things like apple trees, where the color of the tree is dominant, but in the distance, you see the flecks of red from the apples. Lovely.

  11. Red is definitely my favorite color. I love to see splashes of it here and there (Check out the movie Le Ballon Rouge). I also did my room in black and white with splashes of red.

    Glad to see it is catching on!

    I feel like red can easily become overpowering in a room, but I love it used as a tiny accent. It really pops, and just serves to accentuate all of the individual touches.

  52. red is THE accent color; it's vivid and rich enough to be noticed (unlike softer/lighter hues used as an accent) and in small, well-placed doses, red can change the energy of a room. I agree with your friend Abby
