I love the BM's wearing a flower in the hair idea. I wore a flower in my hair on my wedding day in lieu of a veil - it looked really simple and elegant.
And I LOVE all those date outfits. i would b torn between the horizontal stripe dress and the cute shorts and crochet top.
I call my parents Mum and Dad. I had an ex who called his parents by their first name, but I could never do that. To me, it shows a little disrespect - but I think it's because of the way I was raised. I call all people more than 20 years older than me "mr" or "mrs", even if they say I can use their first name.
I love the black bridesmaid's dress and flowers in their hair. British office (though the American office is great too). Where would I want to wake up tomorrow?

I think the Guy Pretty vs. Girl Pretty posts A) are really interesting and B) have picked up on something that's been going on for a while... I've heard people come to the conclusion that "girls don't dress for guys, they dress to impress other girls." ...I am hoping that that means that girls dress to please themselves, and it's usually other girls who appreciate it! I've heard my boyfriend say countless times that ruffles and bows are ridiculous, but that doesn't stop me from wearing them!

Is there anything more desirable than your own bed? One of my greatest pleasures is the smell and especially the feel of freshly laundered sheets.

aw, jo, i think the "flowers-in-her-haiiiiiiiir" idea is super lovely. also i can't remember if i commented on the flickr photos or not, but i wanted to tell you how much i loved your engagement photos (both flickr and pro!) -- the balloons, the boat ride, the cool square champagne flutes, the adorable beardy fiance, your sweet overwhelmed grin!! just lovely. congratulations. : )
Love your idea for your bridesmaids attire. I know they will like it as well. I would.
I love the idea of the different flower bobby pins for your bridesmaids to wear. I also love the trendy feather headbands...they are super easy to make (some craft stores sell the feathers already "assembled" on top of one another). Get a little super glue and a pretty headband, and you're set! ;)
The two best weddings (sartorially) I've ever attended* employed the black dress idea. I was in one of them; twelve years later, I still have the dress & I love it. Flower pins, great. Your friends will love you for both dress & pins. Back to reading Smitten. Just wanted to say....

I am planning a wedding myself and I LOVE the idea of the girls wearing black dresses and flowers in their hair. I know I agonized over finding dresses that they would wear again - so you can't go wrong with your awesome idea!

I was sad about the men's comments on ruffles. I just love them. I hope my husband doesn't hate them.

i'd have to agree with those that commented on the photo for this entry. love it. i can relate to it especially on a weekend when you wanna sleep in a lil bit. i also find the colors so casual. great blog!!! keep it up!
