These are made by Dansk. I have the hippo, giraffe, cat, and rabbit. I bought them about ten years ago at Dillard's - they were selling them in their Christmas shop. Replacements dot com has some available - too pricey - check ebay!
There are indeed an entire menagerie to be found in this style, which have been produced for a number of years. (The newer ones are generally marked Dansk International Designs, Ltd.)
I had a lot of fun researching this wee giraffe, and I'm glad to see so many other have enjoyed him as well! :-)
