Rita Konig = Awesome

Have you guys seen Rita Konig's apartment in the new issue of Domino? How does she make such a teeny apartment have such a big personality? I love her French flea market look -- and her heart bedsheets! The house tour isn't online yet, but I did find these adorable photos from a year ago, including a photo display (above) and an illustrated fireplace (below)...The girl has taste!

  1. Yes! I flipped through the new Domino yesterday in the checkout line...her place is ridiculously beautiful. So effortlessly cool. And those polaroids over the mantle! Too good.

  11. I do wish my mum would try the computer. She would feel much better about how she decorated our houses. I was always being asked why we didn't have "American carpeting." (It took rather a long time one day to finally get it that my friends meant wall-to-wall carpets.) Also why we had mantels where there were no real fireplaces & so on. Anyway, this is how I grew up (we had little money & so necessarily made do & it turned out great.) We bought or traded fabulous frames we found at vintage stores, other shops. We left some portrait photographs in the frames & "adopted" these people as ancestors. Named them & everything. It was all great fun. Thanks for this, Jo.

  13. It's AMAZING isn't it?!! To think that her place is SO tiny? Like most I LOVE the fireplace idea and may have to steal that one! (I've also heard from a reputable source that she is uber-sweet in person. Which is always nice to hear with one you admire, huh?)

  14. I just got my issue yesterday and, yes, she is awesome!

I particularly love the bedroom - the heart sheets that you mention and the wallpaper are both fab. Seeing her stacks of books makes me feel less icky about the stacks I have everywhere.
