One more thing before the weekend...Have you seen this jaw-dropping 103-year-old house in Rhode Island? The sweet old man who owns it restored it beautifully. Look at those views! See the full slideshow here.
I am a new reader loving your blog! What an amazing house, but really it was the Dorothy shoes that hooked me;-) How do I get the type of blog traffic you have on mine? I am a new blogger, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Joanna, That is some place! We are still looking for our dream cottage and if it has only a tenth of what that place has I'll be ecstatic. I absolutely love the ping pong bat shot. Best of luck with your new blog! Kate.
That is so gorgeous. A little scary... what if there is a storm? Knowing me I would have a life jacket on constantly...haha... and my bed would be a flotation device.
What absolutely lovely photos of a fascinating and beautiful place--though things must get a bit hairy in a storm, and it'd be a bit difficult to take a walk....
Ha! I was in Newport 2 summers ago and have a photo of this house that I took from the shore, I had no idea what it was at the time. Thanks for this amazing article!
You know, I think some people might really like the photos of that house... :P Did you visit there, and take the photos yourself? Is the cottage as nice as it looks? x
Gosh what beautiful photos and a beautiful, damn beautiful house. You're right about jaw-dropping. I love the name of your blog btw. Enjoy the success of being on blogs of note.
I just wanted to stop by and say that this photography is absolutely amazing. You did a great job in capturing the houses unique qualities. I wish I could of gotten into photography at a younger age and went with it...has always been a desire to have as a hobby but my school is to much to handle everything. I just started this and I can say that I will be back to check you out again!

I'd definetely live there. But I wonder how it does in a storm...hmmm... and then I'd have to by a boat. I also do rather like having neighbours, not too close of neighbours, but close enough to walk over & ask for a cup of sugar. On second thought I think I'll stick to my dream of having a cottage on a lake in the Rockie Mountains(the boat being optional)
Jo...I don't think I'd post about something like this in the future. Clearly no one is interested in this because of the utter lack of comments. ;)
This is like a knife in the heart to me! UGH! A sweet, glorious, beautiful, awe inspiring, little knife! Goodbye cruel world...I'm off to Rhode Island! Sigh.
That house is so perfect, it could be from a novel. It resembles the marine-theme of Melville's Moby Dick combined with the folksy charm of Lemony Snicket's Series Of Unfortunate Events.
