Speaking of water, I adore Asako Narahashi's series half awake and half asleep in the water. The brave photographer floats chest deep in the ocean near Japanese coastal towns and holds her waterproof camera half-submerged. By watching the waves without using the viewfinder, she times her pictures according to the swells of the ocean.
I love how her photos feel both calm and scary at the same time. (If you're in New York, you can have a beer with her at tonight's opening. Sounds fun.)
