This blog has been getting a little girly (sorry, dudes), so here is a stereotypically male post. Italian photographer Matteo Ferrari tracks down men who have been driving the same car for decades. He then recreates the photos taken when they first bought their cars. I love seeing the people both young and old and thinking about how much they must adore their wheels.(Via Perpenduum and Intersection Magazine)

I adore this idea. Makes me think of the other photo series I think I saw here, of childhood and adulthood pictures posed to be exactly the same.

ReplyDeleteoh, i LOVE vintage cars - such style! the then and now shots are special as they're probably not easy to get living in such a disposable society, even in italy.

ReplyDeleteThis is what I find very funny. When a guy is near his car and he is alone, he is touching it; foot on it, leaning on it, sitting on it. But when he is near his car with a girlfriend/partner/wife....he doesn't touch the car. It's as though men behave like it adulterous!
ReplyDeleteI love these...they remind me of my grandfather. He worked for GM and loved cars. He always had a professional photo done everytime he got a new car {which was often}...we have a whole collection of photographs of him and his cars...thanks for bringing back this memory ...
