Poll: Do you drink milk?
I have something really weird to tell you.....I drink milk. When I order it in coffee shops, people think I’m nuts and never know what to charge me. But milk is so delicious. Do you drink glasses of milk, dear readers? I'm so curious!

Nope. I never liked it, not even as a child. Cheese, though. That's an entirely different story.
i drink chocolate milk and sometimes when i order it at places, they bring it to me in a kids cup to mock me.
a few minutes ago i got my milk, from the bottle in front of the refridgerator. so yes, i love it
that's all i would drink when i was a kid - milk, milk, milk...it's good for your bones! And then my mom said milk's for cows, you're drinking hormones, so no more milk for me. Now when I try it, it's just not the same; my love of milk is nevermore, nevermore...

I LOVE milk. And yes, whenever I order it at restaurants everyone I'm with is always like what are you, 6 years old? Have you heard about the Ronnybrook Milk Bar in Chelsea Market? I keep meaning to check it out.
I drink milk so much. My boyfriend will order chocolate milk at places. Between the two of us, we buy a gallon of milk every couple of days.
I do drink milk--usually with richer meals. I grew up in the Midwest and my family had milk for dinner often--none of us are lactose intolerant. But I can't think of a time when I ordered it when I was eating out. I guess I subconsciously repressed the urge to drink it when out with others.
My Mom is a big milk drinker - she drinks like half a gallon a day! I enjoy milk here and there...and for a sweet, tipsy drink I like amaretto liqueur with milk. Sounds weird, but so GOOD!
I only drink milk with dessert. but of course I do sometimes buy the little horizon chocolate milks for a pick me up. I always feel 5 again, when I do this, maybe that it why I do it?
But I have a friend that drinks a glass of milk with every meal.... and I grew up drinking milk with dinner.

I drank lots as a kid (Mom gave us no choice either lol), I guess I overdosed or something!
Now it's in cereal (which is very rare), or with a chocolate cookie (which is also very rare), or never.
I do eat lotssss of cheese tho! lol :) LOVE it!

I grew up with skim milk, so I always thought I hated it. Then I tasted 1% - and now I love milk! I'll pour a glass and then put it in the freezer for about ten minutes - yum!
I'm swedish - we all drink milk! My father is the biggest milkdrinker i know.
it has to be skim and cold as can be, but yes i do. i once had a dream where in the wall next to my bed i had a milk dispenser that dispensed the coldest milk ever.
this is fabulous!! woo hoo. so happy to have fellow milk drinkers:) putting it in the freezer for ten minutes is an awesome idea.

my mom absolutely LOVES milk, so i was raised that way. we tease her about her beverage of choice and needless to say, have loaded her down with GOT MILK? paraphernalia!
I was vegan somewhere between 4-5 years and now that I'm back on dairy, I still don't drink milk. I don't put it in coffee, cereal, tea, nor do I drink it straight. I just totally got used to soy milk and am fine with still using it.
When I worked with my boyfriend before we started dating he'd always go into the office kitchen and drink a big glass of milk. I thought it was the cutest thing ever, so you get cute points too.
I used to drink milk when I was a little girl. a lot of milk. my Dad and I would secretly sneak swigs from the gallon, I know, gross.
now, I don't drink milk. personal choice when I became a vegetarian. I drink rice milk . but that doesn't mean I won't order an occasional latte or eat piles and piles of cheese, as long as it's organic. :)
I was allergic to cow's milk when I was a kid and so I drank goat's milk instead. Don't know if that's why I don't like milk as an adult, but I will gag if I have to drink a glass of milk. My husband on the other hand loves milk and can't eat oreos without it. weird!

I don't so much, but my boyfriend drinks milk all the time. With everything. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I find it odd... but that's because I don't drink it often.

oh, i LOVE milk. i was just drinking a cold glass last night (with an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie!) and considering how unusual it is to really enjoy milk past the age of 10. but i sure do! cheers!
only with brownies and chocolate chip cookies. i think milk is great (at times) but i can never finish an entire carton before it goes bad and i hate wasting. it's one of those grocery items that i can't justify when i'm living single.
oh no! I don't know why I just read all those comments about drinking big glasses of milk; I feel a little queasy now. I have a real aversion to it. Only soya or rice milk for me, even in tea. I think it's because I didn't like it much as a child so my granny would try to jazz up a glass of milk by adding Ribena to make a "milkshake". It turns lilac, then, IT CURDLES. Come to think of it I don't like lilac much either...
i drink milk with all my meals! although not at restaurants, usually! :) it's most important to drink milk with your pizza. and of course, your baked goods. but that's a no brainer!

The milk stays so much colder for longer & when you've finished off the milk, the ice is coated with milky frost. Delicious!

I do not think you are weird at all! I adore milk just as much as you do, it seems, in that I will order a large glass of it at restaurants to coffee shops to delis... Milk straight up, 2 % or whole --- love it. Plus, it looks so beautifully crisp, white and delicious while it's sitting in a clear glass. It's lovely warm and helps me sleep, it's the perfect beverage.
My dad used to tell me, "don't drink milk for dinner..." b/c I would always chug at least 2 glasses down before anything when I was young, and to this day at 28, I still do.

How funny that so many people believe milk is good for you! Milk is good for newborn babies - not for adults! That is why mammals only lactate after giving birth, and generally stop once their offspring triples its birth weight. Unless, of course, they are injected with tons of hormones. GROSS!

Hih, maybe a part of you is Northern European by spirit, as it is really common to drink milk here, people of all age do it, as idaida mentioned above. I'm Finnish, and I've drank milk all my life, and will continue to do so :).

No milk for me! Ever since I found out how much calcium broccoli has I haven't thought twice about milk. Also I like soy milk in my coffee. It adds a certain something I think. :)

What a funny thing to read everyone's milk likes/dislikes. Those who love it (like me) are passionate about it.
I now drink only organic or soy milk because I think it tastes better and I'm afraid of the hormones in regular. I like 1% in cereal, skim with ice for a beverage to accompany a meal, and chocolate soy for dessert/snacks.
Of course I drink milk! Living in Sweden this is a totally normal thing, everyone here drinks milk. So I have at least one glass a day, most often at dinner.
However, I don't drink coffee, something that is considered VERY strange here in the land with the highest coffee consumtion in the world. It is almost like people don't see me as a real adult because of it...

All the responses cracked me up - and yes, when I worked in a restaurant, I never knew what to charge people! Personally, I don't go near the stuff - I've read too much about the industry and processes to enjoy it anymore...and Eden's unsweetened soy milk is great.

Most certainly I do! About 1.5 liters per day. So far I haven't found such a meal that milk wouldn't be the best drink with it.
Well, it isn't that strange as we finns seem to drink more milk than others, more than 180 liters per year so half a liter per day is just the average.
But it has to be fresh milk! The one that you have to keep in fridge all the time and stays good a week at maximum...

Also, if you like milk based cocktails you would LOVE the bar El Chapandaz in Madrid, Spain. They have HUGE (I mean, as big as your head) cocktails and milk is the main ingredient in most of them. Yum!
LOVE milk!!! I drink a gallon every 2 days. my bf now feels bad drinking milk because he knows how much I love it. I only drink skim milk (and soy and rice). Since I switched to non-fat whole milk grosses me out.

Sometimes I crave milk for days on end. Then I will go for weeks and not drink it at all. I have no idea what this is about. But I do love it. I drink skim milk. I always keep it in the fridge and when I'm not drinking it I end up throwing it out. It's just that odd.
