Can't wait for this movie

Growing up, I was fascinated by the story of Henry VIII. (I mean, who beheads their wives?! It's crazy!) I watched Anne of the 1000 Days a million times. So I can't wait for The Other Boleyn Girl starring Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, who are such a cool pair. P.S. Plus, the most awkward kiss ever on the red carpet, which magazines are of course calling "steamy."

  1. The pair of them are so beautiful. I like N. Portman better, but I guess my husband would disagree with me at this point. For what I have seen of the movie, the colours and the clothing are exquisite.

  2. Me too! Though, I'm going to read the book before I see the flick- did you read the book? I've heard it's a page-turner and one that cannot be put down...

  3. I actually just finished reading the book, in anticipation for the film! (My disappointments in "Atonment" & "I Am Legend" are making me disinclined to read their literary counterparts.)

    It is quite the page turner, though I wish they didn't use the promotion pictures for the cover; I could only picture Natalie Portman the entire time, and the book made me grow to strongly dislike her...

  4. You know I can't wait for this! My best friend so a sneak and said the movie differs slightly from the book. I guess it would have to since the book is like 500 pages. Still, I no doubt am expecting some gorgeous costumes, scenery and a plot filled story!

    also, esti, your comment made me laugh. i think SJ is "guy pretty" and NP is "girl pretty." i LOVE natalie portman and her beautiful skin and eyes and mouth :) sigh.

  6. I can't wait either! I am furiously trying to finish the book before it opens here. I'm really enjoying the book, but I keep picturing Jonathon Rhys Meyers as Henry instead of Eric Bana which is ok by me. :)

  7. I haven't read the book, but I'd love the read a good bio of Anne Boleyn; I've been reading lots of bios about strong women of the past lately, it's becoming an obsession.
    (I'll take suggestions)

  8. i am excited to see the movie too. they are both really beautiful, but np is definitely the coolest of the two. i've noticed a weird awkwardness between them in interviews though.

  9. gosh, i can't wait to see this either. i devour all trashy historical novels about henry 8 and his wives. hilarious and so true comments about girl pretty vs boy pretty. i totally think np is the prettiest by far but my husband would beg to differ for sure

  13. This book is one of the best I've read! The movie has to be just as wonderful, right? The cast is amazing and from what I have seen/read about it, the cinematography and direction was equally amazing.

  23. I'm looking forward to this one too but the thing that caught my eye about this post was Natalie's blue dress!

    So wonderful to see that young Hollywood isn't afraid to take a risk and wear Rodarte. :}
